New heat produced by mr alchemist

I found some mixtapes on Hip-Hop is read.com with all his collabs on it.
i try to listen to other NY rap still, but listening to marciano (and guys associated with him) makes me not want to honestly. spent this afternoon driving around - found myself just playing rm tracks on repeat. and every time i think i have all his tracks, i'll hear some random feature verse from years ago that renders what everyone else does redundant.
the alchemy of marci on a beat transfixes me (nh) to the point where i have to stan everything he does. sometimes more so when he's rapping over his own production - but the way he mails in seamless, outshining features on any beat makes other rappers look like fucking amateurs.
people lament the demise of new york's rap hegemony, but i really couldn't care less. most of the guys i liked from the 90s and early 00s just got arrogant and lazy (if they already weren't).
like most of the best artists, rm just keeps it low key and stays true/sees through his impulses unimpinged by outside influence.
i don't know whether to incorporate guys like westside gunn and conway (and ka for that matter) into this thread. but the stuff they've released, particularly this year, has been great. they don't really have the same quality marciano does as rappers, but their stuff is thoughtful, conceptual (not in the cliche way most music is) and musical. ny rap at some point just devolved into "dope verses" on "hot beats" as oppose to making good tracks.
that thing conway release this year, 50 round drum, is a labyrinth.
ka too, but he's been making great albums for a fair while.
hella dope
^ One of his more energetic recent verses.
He's kinda like Rae in the sense that he went from spitting with more energy to having a more laid back kinda style these days. Real dope though.
What are people's opinions on Marci Beaucoup btw? I was initially a bit let down cos it wasn't as good as the previous 2 albums but overtime it has grown on me. Some good stuff on there.
eh, i wouldn't compare him to rae, because he forgot how to flow - i see where you're coming from though.
marci beaucoup was cool - i preferred The Pimpire Strikes Back though (a few pages back myself and Fathertime discussed this, from memory). some great tracks on there though.
