i dont think its fair to compare clan albums to each other cuz they all sound totally different. ie. Forever was a step up/mature version of 36 but is it better ? cant say it is..

A different side of the clan was seen on 8D.
no real heart-throbbing science from the darker days of the '90's, but more soulful and unique production with some solid verses from Ghost and GZA as usual.
gave the album a strong 7/10. could've been a 9/10 if you remove the soft vibe and add an elemnt of the 36 chambers
Calling the album "lame white boy shit" is the exact same as calling Soulja Boy "nigger music."
Props for that.
I actually liked most of the beats, and I thought that U-God and Meth put on great performances. Ghost sounded great too, but was very limited.
All in all, I liked the album, but wouldn't call it a classic.
I thought rae and deck both sounded boring, like rae wasn't even trying, and deck fell off hard.
I respect what it tried to do, but my main complaints are that it wasn't cohesive at all, had no flow as an album, lacked energy, and you could tell the members weren't really in to it.
However, on an individual basis, I enjoy all of the tracks, with the exception of Starter.
So, I would say it was a good album, and musically, was very interesting.
However, I certainly would not put it on the level of 36 or Forever, as those were classics.
Hip-hop was born from rock and all types of music. That's the essence of hip hop. That's why we like Wu-Tang, cos it's not boring hip-hop like any other typical hip-hop.
I was into Westside Connection and Ice-T, before I discovered the Wu with Ironman, and what I liked was the strings and other shit RZA used for his beats. It's the same RZA with the same innovative attitude, but some people didn't follow, Hollow.
LOL u like anything rza does.
If Rza had an orgasm on the track it would be a classic to you lol.
I think the album is average. I liked the lyrics...but the beats were too hit or miss for me. I loved some of the beats like Gun Will Go, Weak Spot, Rushing Elephants, and Windmill. I thought Campfire and Take it Back were alright...and I hated the rest of the beats.
I still think it's slightly better then Iron Flag though...I hated that album.
This album basically suffered from OVER-production. RZA was just trying too hard to create a new sound...and if you combine that with the obvious emailed verses and lack of unity, this entire album seems like it was forced, IMO.
Get Them Out Your Way Pa = Most underrated Wu track in the past 5 years
