puerto ricans are just as black as "traditional blacks".
they are our lightskinned brothers.
they speak spanish. we speak english. neither of which is our native language.

we have similar struggles and only when deliberately divided, do we recognize our differences. my god parents are borriquas. i was raised by a puerto rican family as a small child(2-3) while my dad was in school and my mom worked.

my catholic church was black and latino. i gave mass in both languages. i have never felt an ounce of racism from a puertorican... ever.
