can't lie, that scene was ridiculous, couldn't believe how long they went with it too, i saw this movie only once and i was good on it.

finally, something new to check out, thank you sir
have not seen that Across the River. but for some reason it reminded of this...
Borgman
i came across this on Hulu one day and i still stand behind it being the best movie i have watched on that streaming service since.
very open ended and kinda strange. i highly enjoyed it. and have recommended it before irl but some people dont like subtitles smh
I've been rewatching John Carpenter movies. I really like his films, he explored a lot of the same themes of this thread in his work. I'm sure most of you are familiar with him but yeah he's worth rewatching.
I watched Prince Of Darkness which is kind of cheesy but its a smart take on a Satan type movie, has a lot of cool scenes in it. They Live! which is kind of the matrix before the matrix and is alternately funny and a perfect analogy for modern society. The Thing which might be the greatest Cosmic Horror of all time. I think that's his best film, the prequel is a solid precursor to it on a movie night.
Saw The Thing for the very first time last month (yeah my bad). Great opening scene (the dog in the snow) and terrific use of music. They were showing it on tv past 1am so unfortunately I dozed off during the final. I'd gladly watch it again during office hours haha
Carpenter often did his own scores but Ennio Morricone did The Thing, very creepy shit. Yeah its definitely worth seeing.
The prequel is also solid, it has Mary Elizabeth who I always like, keeps the exact same vibe of the original and leads directly into it. The only problem when you watch both films is it shows you how practical effects are so much creepier and more realistic compared to the CG based stuff in the prequel.
Dude!!! Borgman was so fucking good.
thanks for the recommendation
Ennio did the song from the Orca movie also, which was good.
Still don’t know what to make of Lars von trier’s anti-Christ ....
bump this back up for easy access, should kinda be stickied?
man...
this show ="the terror"
what a dark, fucked up, Crazy ride. all the fucking way
i highly recommend it
They look like people <<<< really enjoyed this one
Coherence was pretty ill. it is on Hulu, low budget heavy story
Zum goldenen Handschuh / The golden glove
about a real life German serial killer in the 1970s
watched "meghan is missing " last night. I........have no words
i was more disturbed than shook, Movies like these creep me out because of the realism behind them. watch this film knowing that right now in America, there are over 30 active serial killers and the end of that movie is actually playing out somewhere right now, hell it may even be the neighbor you always thought was cool AF. the notion alone gives me chills
I will have to say, if you let police do actual police work it can have benefits. There has been a dramatic reduction of serial killers over the years. This is due to the effectiveness of forensics and profiling used. We may never see a notrious serial killer in today's world, like was commonplace decades ago.
Has anyone ever seen "A Serbian Film". I have heard it is an ultimate mindfuck film, I read the plot on Wikipedia and there is no way I'm watching it.
it's been discussed on here on at least on one occasion, it might have been in this thread right here. I'm staying clear of that movie too lol
that movie is a mindfuck in this sense and i thought the director was genius for this. it decieves you to believe that you are watching another regular movie with the same ole plotline, man in certain industry falls from grace, tries to get back on track to feed his family, it makes you actually comfortable with the story, at some point feeling like its a wholesome trip and story of redemption then just when your mind is settled, when your mind has been fine tuned to calmness, then the unexpected starts hitting you hard with that movie. suddenly it downs on you what you are watching, then a certain scene really goes for the kill and you are left defeated in the end.
this is a great way to do psychological horror so yeah, it is fucked up, more than mindfuckery but if you're into derangement like i am, go for it
Read somewhere that movie's was a reflection/metaphor of Serbian people's feelings towards politics in their country.
'Circle'. This movie is more of a social experiment. It has more of a play than a movie setting. It's about ethical choices and odds/simple maths. I enjoyed it but some of it is a bit on the nose.
Never mind that scene was from Endless. Good movie.
^^Classic.
