In regards to slavery...from what i've studied and from what i know, is if a muslim following the quran and the chracter of the prophet muhammad(pbuh) had slaves....he would treat them respectfully....
-smh- this must be al'islam's version of trying to justify slavery. Having slaves is disrespectful, so there's no way a slave master can treat them with respect when the act of having a slave is disrespectful.
He would give the one enslaved opportunity to earn his freedom through many, if the muslim had a business he(the slave) may even run part of it or marry one of his(the muslims) daughters....
Which isn't the same as the european slave trade which exploited, dehumanised and stripped human beings of dignity systematically....
So are you saying that during european slavery "slaves" didn't have an opportunity for upward mobility in society?

show me evidence of the respectful treatment of slaves by muslims.
any way my point was that releasing slaves in islam is a meritorious act.... And bilal (a black man who was enslaved) was the first freed from his captors in islam....
