anyone read scarlet? maleevs art is boss but it was short and interesting.
idk how i feel about scarlet..kind of indifferent far as the story is concerned..i am interested in some of the techniques he used..the art was awesome.
scarlet was really good. one of the best things i've read in a while.im also a bendis fan, so i know im biased. but i will for sure be on board for this one. very well done first issue.
i copped batman:odyssey and thought it was pretty mediocre. was i the only muhfucka who was confused as fuck reading it? man-bats waynes helper? and was robin supposed to be greyson? if so, he was wearing drakes uniform. kinda a clusterfuck as far as the writing.
grayson was in drake's costume because neal adams designed it originally back in 91 or 92 and he hates the original robin costume lol...the story is out of continuity.
the man-bat thing, as well as the whole bit at the pier at the end, confused the fuck out of me also.
ok. now the costume makes sense. but 12 issues of that incoherent shit? i dont think im on board for that. lol
^^^right?
he should've had miller write the script like he originally planned
i thought scarlet was ok...the constant fourth wall breaking got to be a little too cutesy to me, and there were some lame storytelling shortcuts taken imo (my first kiss...etc) i might get the trade later though.

bruce wayne is the shit.
is that from the main series? morrison writing, tsd doin art?
ya, the rest of the preview is here, it doesn't really tell you much lol...it says it has clues to the 'return of bruce wayne'...i'm assuming this involves being prepared for the omega effect and/or whatever hurt's plans are...

ya, seems cool
looks awesomeQuote:

Over on his DeviantART site, Dan Panosian posts an image that's just dripping with cool. "I just finished writing a Story Outline for a Retro Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Daughters of the Dragon limited series for Marvel Comicshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adT...lass_10x10.gif. [ with Sabretooth and Dazzler! ]," he said in his post. "I'll keep you posted with all the details but in the meantime, here's some Teaser Art to whet your appetite! Enjoy!"
pete tomasi and patrick gleason will be the new team on batman and robin after issue #16.
^^^^ i cannot tell you how much i fucking love that heroes for hire pic. that shit already has my money. very frank millerish. lol
astonishing spider-man/wolverine issue 2 was dope.
dr doom as a living planet and the phoenix force gun. funny how Spidey had to use the Spider-Man suit from the "History's Lamest Heroes" stand in a Super Hero Wax Museum, amongst his wax figure was Phone ranger and Squirrel Girl. we got a spidey web-slinging with a "LAME" patch on his ass.
i cannot wait til friday for sdcc!!!
atlas got cancelled .......again. its a shame too. i like these characters and their place in the marvel u. but there is a gorilla man limited currently out.
anybody fuckin with hawkeye and mockingbird? not bad. i really enjoy the art on it. its a great fit.
and despite the mediocre reviews, i'm diggin the first part of shadowland. i even like the dark black and grey dd suit. if it didnt have the dd symbol on it, it'd look really cool. ol' matts not only reached his breaking point, HE'S DEMONICALLY POSSESSED!!.....or something. lol
first off..no one has mentioned Batman..that shit was good, TSD stepped his game up, the young avengers book is good too, and ya SPidey and wolverine book is bangin
ya i'd buy it right now...then again all bendis has to do is add misty knight and colleen wing to the new avengers cast lol
and ya batman was good as usual, tsd started integrating a tim sale influence into his art..nice characterization and adding layers to the puzzle...the secret room, bruce seeing the 'barbatos; graffiti
also...interesting little detail about how bruce said he didn't realize his mask was off...in RIP, hurt commands him to 'take off the cowl and retire from crime-fighting' or whatever, and bruce takes off the mask in the next panel...like hurt had some control over him.
pissed off about atlas getting cancelled right after i started buying it...this happens to me with every marvel book that isn't major
does anyone read "the merc w the mouth" series?
hell no
deadpool merc with a mouth finished just recently. didnt bother reading it or corps or whatever on going one shots he had. i dropped his main series a couple months back after it got stale.
hawkeye and mockingbird i liked it. i think they announced a week ago that ronin was going to be back in the series trying to find out who ronin is this time around the 7th issue.
thanks kza u answered my question
hawkeye and mockingbird is cool...is the 'reunion' miniseries worth a purchase?
man, someone seriously needs to tell jrjr to step up his penciling game, i leafed through avengers #3 and the art just looks ugly
did anybody check out 'time masters'? i'm sure it has jack shit to do with morrison's story but i was curious how much it was tied into ROBW
the reunion mini is worth getting if you can find it cheap. same good art. pretty much a typical marvel spy story. with a little skrull kidnapping drama thrown in. not a must but entertaining.
gotta say, immonens art is a fantastic fit with new avengers. he really is a great match for this title kinda like when perez did new teen titans or byrne did x-men.
new power man and iron fist mini coming. but it aint like that cool pic up above. they're introducing a new kid calling himself power man. personally, i'd want to see heroes for hire get the max treatment. think alias with fist and the daughters of the dragon.
ya the new power man seems pointless to me...do the daughters of the dragon have any comics of their own?
is the black cat miniseries any good?
http://robot6.comicbookresources.com..._with-logo.jpg\
awesome
the daughters of the dragon i think originally had some black and white stories in some of the kung-fu magazines marvel put out in the 70's. those stories tended to have a little grit in 'em. i dont know if they're collected, but i'd check it out if they were.
i think about 5 or so years ago there was a mini series. it was not bad, kinda written like a summer action film. it came out right before the last heroes for hire team book, with shang-chi, misty, collen, paladin and some others. i've always liked misty and collen as characters.
personally haven't checked out the black cat mini. last comics i read with her in them were the kevin smith mini and heroes for hire.
and wheadons doin avengers. at least they gave it to someone who you know likes the characters. hopefully he will do it justice.
btw...Batman, Inc....nuff said.
just got back from sdcc. heres all the swag i got

did not go to any of the booths which i regret. my feet hurt from all the walking. i met only the cast of the super hero squad. the galactus figure is awesome. took more pics of the sideshowcollectibles busts instead of the cosplayers that were there lol.

nice^^ eloels
best..picture..ever.
up those pics of the sideshow busts, kza. they have the best shit. if i was super rich with that much money to spend, i'd be buying the busts they make. they always come correct.
is that a marvel vs capcom 3 comic? damn. and i heard about tekken vs street fighter witch is probably my dream fighting game if they can actually pull it off. (except for maybe marvel vs dc. lol)
saw some of the sdcc coverage on g4 (god bless olivia munn. she looks like she tastes so damn good). not too many super surprises, but a lot of good info none the less.
red hulk joining the avengers? i thought he was like a serial killer or something. all i really know about him is that he's really thunderbolt ross and hes red. never really got into hulk comics. he has one of the shittiest rouges galleries in my worthless opinion.
god hates sentries and odin is god sign = awesome

if i had money to burn i would buy them. they were giving out giftcards ranging from 20-100 bucks but i didnt want it because the site only gives you a list of what you can use it on.
its not a comic sadly its just artwork inserted in a bag and board. i wanted to get a poster also but they were probably gone.
im uploading the pics right now around 80 pics but they are big.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/51140507@N05/
i gotta wait til next month to upload the rest. i have all of it uploaded on fb though lol
thanks kza. those sideshow collectibles busts are the shit. just great work on the part of that studio. puts the bowen busts to shame.
the art on the galactus box is tight. was that a freebee or did you have to shell out cash for it?
galactus was 65 bucks. joe q did the art for it. they did give it away at the marvel booth but they gave it to a little kid.
really cool interview w/ morrison about Batman, Inc:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...show_id=382286
couple interesting marvel series coming out.
uncanny x-force by rick remender.the line up is logan, psylocke, archangel, deadpool & fantomex. might be interesting.
and deadpool max by dave lapham and kyle baker. im just glad another character is getting the max treatment and deadpools a good choice. all his regular series seem to be pretty mediocre, so i would give this one a try.
and a taskmaster mini. i just like the character. lol
ok that DP max sounds great..cuz of Kyle Baker..i became a fan, plus how long have people been dying for a DP max series?
^david lapham is pretty killer too (stray bullets, young liars), but ya kyle baker is amazing...is this a miniseries or regular series?
all new ongoing.
good news^ and Return of Bruce was gangsta..eloels.
^dammit, won't have it until friday...the preview art looked like shit though...did flash come out today?
