Iranian professional footballer Sosha Makani has been jailed following a picture he snapped with unveiled women which is a crime in Iran.

Sosha Makani who keeps for and has won 3 caps with the national team was pictured with a number of women who didn’t veil their hair at a social event via his social media account.

One of the pictures was revealed to the police authorities who then ordered the arrest of the player who is now under police custody.

He was arrested on the 4th of January and has remained under police custody awaiting an investigation into the publication of the pictures, ‘pictures that lead to the spread of corruption and prostitution in society’ (viaRFERL).

According to Iran Human Rights, Makani’s account was hacked, and the player has suffered a miscarriage of justice of epic proportions.

Gender is a sensitive issue in Iranian football: last year it emerged that up to 8 of the women’s team are actually men posing as women.

I have no idea how anyone who likes football can keep away from watching premier league.. Yes, there's no team as good as Bayern, Barca or Real, but the amount of crazy games and matchups are unmatched. That Man Utd v Newcastle game on tuesday, then the Liverpool v Arsenal match on wednesday and now Liverpool v Man Utd coming up on Sunday. Probably not the best, but definitely the most interesting league in the world.

Yeah the premier league has been amazing so far this season. Its really because theres a good balance and there is no super team like Barca or Bayern. Its good to see all the teams just going for it. I still have my money on Arsenal winning it, well they should be winning it if they don't then they should give up.

The actual football is crap though. It's just 20 average teams while the broadcasters tell you it's the best in the world. Pffft. Hertha Berlin are 3rd in Germany but that league gets ignored because the equal best team in the world are too good.

Would be truly the shock of the century if Leicester City win the Premier league. Arsenal have begun their traditional choke job, Man City look shaky at times. Its Leicester's to win.

Chinese team buys Jackson Martinez for some 42million Euros. Insane money, the Chinese teams are snapping up players and paying them crazy wages.

^^ This, broadcasters make it hard for me to even watch the EPL, I remember earlier in the season Stoke was beating City 1-0 at half time and the broadcasters said that because Stoke was winning it makes the EPL the best league in the world, as if other top teams in other leagues never lose.

The EPL is very balanced this year because most the teams are doing shit, not because there is a lot of sides playing quality football,

Well yeah the 'quality' isn't there in the EPL. There isn't a team that plays amazing football, Arsenal and Man City from time to time but both teams have been very inconsistent this season.

I think the poor play in European competition shows that English teams have regressed a little. Still the league has been great this season and its better for the league to have more seasons like this.

The real fucked up story is Liverpool raising the ticket prices, minimum ticket price is going to be £77 up from £59. When you compare with Germany the prices are ridiculous, teams shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

I disagree. Some of the games are crap but I watched West Ham against Man City a few weeks ago and it was one of the best games of football ive seen in a long time. Yeah we dont have a team like Barca or Madrid who play amazing football week in week out but it is so unpredictable that it so enjoyable to follow. Plus, as much as I think Pep is more than likely overrated (how hard is it to manage two of the best teams in the world) I think he will have City playing amazing football, and if Mourihino goes to United we could have two of the best teams in Europe again.

I know its pretty unlikely now, but if villa can put together a few wins then maybe its not all over yet... Gabby played great at the weekend for the first time in years. Although Norwich are poor.

And people complaining about shitty football havent watched Aston Villa every week for the last 4-5 years. Fuckin hell. Maybe 10 excellent games in that period I can recall.

Man I hope this doesnt become the norm with the Chinese teams buying everyone. When you have players like Sterling and that piece of shit backstabbing snake Fabien Delph around who only care about money then I can see a lot of players contemplating this move if the price is right.

EPL is so overrated its not even funny (That's why I never watched it). I don't watch soccer anymore (Find it boring). But back in the 90's (everything was better in the 90's lol) every sunday, I watched 'Match of the week' + the weekly round up of Serie A. Back then any player worth their salt, would play in Serie A. Then over night things turned plastic (like everything else in society) and all of a sudden, no name players + EPL/ La Liga / Ridiculous transfer fees ect..... became cool Ahahahahaha

IMO..... The Italian league was and maybe always will be ( not sure now because I don't follow) the best, because you actually had to have real talent and skill.

Just to highlight my point !

Englands best ever player ( IMO...One of the world's best ever players) Paul Gascoigne went to Italy in the 90's, to try his luck and didn't do well !

It really was a superior league.
