will Money May vs Pacman ever happen ???
Man I'm tired of all these filipinos making a million and one excuses for Pacquiao. Dude got worked, simple and plain.
Keep in mind that Cotto replaced Emmanuel Steward too. He also had an inexperienced corner when he fought Pacman. He's got some Cuban trainer now but we'll see how that works out.
As for Pacman I think he has too many distractions going on. He looked well trained (maybe even over trained for this fight) but seems to not have the passion he had before. He bought his Ferrari on 24/7, he had a concert booked for Mandalay Bay's House of Blue's after the fight, etc. My point is he seems distracted by a lot and not really focusing on what made him rich and famous...boxing. Thinking he was going to knock out Marquez in 6 rounds was funny. Marquez has never been stopped in a fight. I wonder what Freddie Roach will predict if the fight with Mayweather gets made. Aside from that I'm a fan of Pacman as a fighter and respect him more as a person.
Was glad to see Margacheato get his ass spanked yesterday. He hasn't won since he last tried to use his plaster. As for Cotto, I would like to see him fight Canelo or maybe go to 160 and challenge Chavez Jr. I know Chavez is bigger but Cotto can use that as an advantage. Sort of like Pacman did with Margarito.
Another controversial fight between Khan and Peterson tonight. Khan was deducted 2 points for pushing. The last point reduction was weak, but I have no problem with the first because he was clearly pushing off with his elbows. And he did receive a warning, I don't know what Max Kellerman is bitching about. Nevertheless, I still had Khan up by 1 pt after the fight. The rematch should be good.
Any other thoughts?
Smokin' Joe Cooper became part of the event. I agree with Max Kellerman. The ref can deduct but let the fighter know that after the next foul he will deduct a point. And he does it twice. Smells like hometown cookin'. The fight was good and I was impressed by Peterson's body work on Khan. I think he landed like 100+ to the body compared to 40+ for Khan. Do Freddie Roach fighters like to go to the body? It's becoming a lost art in boxing nowadays.
Manny used to be pretty good about going up and down with his combos. More recently he's been head-hunting way too much and ignoring the body for the most part. The Marquez fight was a perfect example.
Khan didn't look that good to me but he should've escaped with his belts by a point or so. He seemed ineffective with those fast combos he was lunging in with. They looked flasy but he was catching alot of Peterson's gloves and arms. I think he's owed a rematch but I have doubts that Peterson will honor his word and give him one. He wants to hold those belts for a minute at least lol.
I've never been more happy to be wrong about a fight... Cotto beat that ass convincingly using some really nice boxing/punching. Tony pressed as always but was basically just chasing Cotto all night and getting caught clean. I'd love to see Cotto/Chavez; that would be a good matchup for Miguel.
Thinking of heading to Houston to see that Morales tuneup next month...
So Mayweather's going to jail for 90 days. That scraps the idea of him and Pacman fighting in May. If Pacman fights in May I hope he fights Timothy Bradley. Who I think might fight scrappy enough to pull the upset. Marquez should have been more aggressive in the final 2 rounds in his last fight versus Pacman. Unless you dominate the fight with a few knockdowns you should never assume you are winning. Especially if you're the challenger. Ask Oscar De La Hoya after he fought Trinidad.
now im hearing sergio martinez calling pacman a fake pound for pound
this could get interesting

When Andre Ward easily outpointed Carl Froch to unify super middleweight titles last Saturday in the final of the Super Six World Boxing Classic, he did so with a left hand that was broken in two places, an MRI exam revealed Thursday.
After Ward defeated Froch, he disclosed that he had injured his left hand in one of his final sparring sessions about a week before the fight.
Then Ward said he badly hurt the hand again in the sixth round of the fight. He won in large part because he relied so heavily on his left hook, which he repeatedly landed to Froch's head.
After the initial injury, Ward had an X-ray, in which no breaks were detected. But an MRI in his hometown of Oakland, Calif., on Thursday revealed multiple fractures in the third and fifth metacarpal bones.
Ward (25-0, 13 KOs) initially injured his hand a little more than a week before the fight against England's Froch (28-2, 20 KOs).
"The X-ray came back negative. I just knew it hurt like nobody's business," Ward said. "We had to go (through) with the fight. I was extremely concerned the whole week of the fight, but I knew I couldn't pull out. It was inevitable that it would get banged up again in the fight and that is my lead hand. I felt it all through the fight, but I bit down. I continued to do what I had to do.
"Early on the adrenaline was working. But in the sixth round, when I hit him on top of the head, that is when I really hit a wall in terms of the pain. But I had no choice. We got through it."
Ward, 27, will be in a cast for two weeks and then go through rehabilitation. His next fight date is not set, but he won't return until at least next spring.
"I should be fine," said Ward, who tweeted photos of his hands, and of his left in a cast. "We're looking at April or May. I don't think this is going to be major setback."
Ward, a 2004 U.S. Olympic gold medalist, went through Showtime's 26-month tournament undefeated, winning a world title. He was never seriously challenged, including by Froch in the final at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
"After he looked at the MRI, the doctor said his hand was broken before the fight," promoter Dan Goossen said. "He said he could tell by the fracture that it had happened a couple of weeks ago, not in the fight. Obviously, he went into the fight thinking it wasn't fractured because the X-rays alone were not be able to detect the fracture.
“He kept icing it and icing it, but he was determined to fight no matter what. But this is what the great ones do -- they find a way to get through something like this. It's another reason why I think Andre is destined for superstardom.” -- Promoter Dan Goossen on Andre Ward
"It's funny, because when Andre went to (a different) doctor after he first hurt the hand, he said, 'I don't care if my hand is broken, I'm fighting.' But we didn't know at the time it really was broken," Goossen said.
"When I spoke to Andre on Thursday, he said, 'Thank goodness we didn't know.' "
Goossen said he had some concerns about the hand leading into the fight. He had looked at it when they were in New York for the final news conference a few days beforehand, and he noticed that it was swollen.
"He kept icing it and icing it, but he was determined to fight no matter what," Goossen said. "But this is what the great ones do -- they find a way to get through something like this. It's another reason why I think Andre is destined for superstardom. He overcomes everything."
When no fracture was detected after the X-rays when he first hurt it, the injury was diagnosed as a soft tissue injury.
"I hit one of my sparring partners on top of the head, and it was a good shot," Ward said. "We kept sparring a couple of more rounds and didn't think much of it. I told my team that it feels weird, almost like a fracture."
Ward said when he first visited the doctor and had an X-ray the week before the fight, he was surprised that no fracture was seen.
"When it first happened it felt like a fracture," Ward said. "That's the last thing I wanted to think about going into the fight. Everyone around me was trying to be positive.
"Overnight, the hand just blew up. So when the doctor told me there was no fracture I was shocked. I just couldn't believe it. He said it was a soft tissue injury and just deep bruise. I lived with an icepack on my hand for the week leading up to the fight, but it hurt when I put on the gloves even just to hit the mitts. The way it was looking and feeling, I was very concerned the night before the fight."
He said he was so concerned he had cut man Jacob "Stitch" Duran come to his hotel room to do a run-through on how he would wrap his hands the following night, just to make sure he could deal with it. Ward said it was very uncomfortable, but that he was resigned to fighting.
In the fight, the left hand was open for Ward to use, so he kept firing it despite the pain.
"I just tried to keep using it and other times, I would wince if I hit him with a good shot," Ward said. "But I've seen fighters like Floyd Mayweather fight with one hand.
"As a fighter, you already know that that day is going to come for you. I knew that I was going to have that day, so I had no choice but to keep using the hand. I simply had no other choice."
somewhat glad he beat froch
Paul Williams vs Nobuhiro Ishida[1-21-12]
anybody catch the jermain taylor fight?
Have no idea on Jermain Taylor's fight results...on another note I did read that Bob Arum is pitching four fighters (Cotto, Peterson, Marquez, and Bradley) to Pacman when Arum travels to Pacman's country. I say fuck the four mentioned and go after the Berto-Ortiz winner.
pac vs mayweather official now?
Amir Khan gets an immediate rematch against the uncle tom who supposedly beat him. justice served
Happy Bornday to Muhammad Ali
Berto-Ortiz postponed...Berto injured a bicep and might be out for a while. Maybe throw Ortiz into the Pacman opponents mix. I'd like to see Ortiz or maybe Tim Bradley vs. Pacman considering the other names being mentioned. We'll see.

Post-match press conference fight.
Another Klitschko win!
isnt pacman supposed to be retiring after this?
not sure, but I do know that pacman and mayweather will never fight, or they will fight when both, or one of them is past their prime. my guess it will be pacman, because Bob is making sure they never fight now, so if they do fight, and pacman loses he can say "mayweather beat him when he was past his prime, but ducked him when he was not" even though pacman, and his camp did the ducking this time
i'll agree with you there mayweather somewhat did the same thing to mosley...word was mosley actually been wanted to fight mayweather but he (mayweather) made all kind statements where he wasnt interested in fighting then after the knockouts shane received by vernon forrest, etc. he decides he wants to fight shane....anybody can see he's ducking certain fighters
mayweather never really been test thoroughly
mayweather even if he never loses a fight will never have the legacy of someone like pernell whitaker, because people will always say he ducked certain fights, and it's a shame, because he had the skill to win everyone of the could have been fights
who do you all think has the best legacy when it comes to boxing?
ali?
sugar ray robinson?
marciano?
I'll go toe-to-toe with any mofo!!!

Amir Khan vs Oisin Fagan
http://sosoboxing.com/boxing-video-w...s-oisin-fagan/
I'm picking Sugar Ray Robinson first. Ali second. Marciano third. I have seen Robinson tapes and thought of his one punch KO power, Roy Jones speed, graceful footwork like a ballet dancer, and strong chin. If there was anything close to a perfect fighter it would be him. And to think that his best years were not recorded on tape makes you think how special he really was. Its almost like watching MJ during his second three-peat but not having video of his earlier three-peat/career.
