didn't they just do alternate reality/future versions of ff?
why does that book seem so difficult to pull off?
i swear the only time i've ever liked it was the john byrne era lol and i wasn't even alive then

ya FF does seem like a pain in the ass...even the best writers stumble on it. im wonderin when Hulk will leave the shitter aswell.
^^i thought the super-brief run dwayne mcduffie and paul pelletier had before mark millar came on had potential...millar's run (At least the first six or seven issues that i bought) was irritating as hell and a waste of bryan hitch's skills...i think it's a tone issue...it's like the concept of the FF is so tied with the Lee/Kirby style and tone that everyone either wants to do an homage or pastiche of that shit or try to make it modern and edgy...to me, just treat the comic as science fiction adventure stories rather than superheroes...
i think dan slott could probably save the book from a writing standpoint...his mighty avengers and spider-man work makes me think he 'gets' it...he can do the high concept stuff and still maintain a fun and jocular tone...dude used to write 'ren and stimpy' after all lol (granted i haven't read hickman's issue yet so this could be irrelevant...but secret warriors and nightly news being a completely different tone than what's called for in FF plus the fact that he said he'd never read the book before makes me wonder)
isn't Hulk in 2 titles now? banner's got his own book and red hulk is still the star of loeb's shit fest right? i don't know who could save that book...
i havent read that much f4 and i think hickman did the dark reign f4 so now hes on the main series. the last issue i bought a while back ago was when sue died issue 562
the issue was boring but i want to see where it goes from there. does the last image work? i reupped the 1st and 3rd image.
lmao at the infinity gauntlet...ahh w/e, and idk whats goin on with Hulk...they did a 600 which i didnt read, im assuming, since 601 came out..that banner has hiw on series..but idk.
Batman actually wasnt bad this issue, thing thats still annoying me is the colors..too shiny in certain places...drives me nuts..some of the art was great though.
Dat nigga Reed Richards things he's so fucking gully.
They should do a story line where a big super powered indian (warpath, or the American Eagle) come through and fuck his wife like King of da hill and John Red Corn ya sniffles?
oh man i saw the pics online about spider-man shit is crazy and its awesome to know that they disney bought them this week and this comes out

so i DLed the last 3 issues of Batman to see if I was missing anything...to me the only interesting stuff is the Two Face/Penguin/Black Mask subplots...winnick's writing is surprisingly decent although the "two questions...who are you and where's the real batman?" was so predictable lol
agreed about the coloring, way too bright, too many purples, maroons, etc...the coloring of batman himself is too garish, it reminds me of 70s-80s batman comics...batman and robin does this type of color scheme alot better
i still hate bagley's art here, the inking isn't doing him any favors, and the figure work, backgrounds, technology is just sloppy as hell to me and the individual pages and panels seem poorly composed...he needs to take his time more...and the mopey dick grayson/smiley batman is kind of lame lol
"batman: threat or menace?"---where have i seen that before lol?
i'll continue to pass i think...batman and robin, streets of gotham, gotham city sirens, and detective of course make this book seem superfluous and just outmoded.
lmfao
"and that's just half of my warpath"
namor's got first dibs on invisible woman though
who wrote and drew this? this looks pretty cool (that damn tablet! again!) and i don't even like the zombieverse stuff that much...what other characters are they doing?
wolverine, hulk, and i forgot the other
^^^should've given one to zombie luke cage paired up with zombie iron man (if you've read the zombie arc from the last black panther series you know what i mean)
anybody reading ultimate spider-man?
the art is great...the expressions, panel/page composition, the clothing (it's sad how rare it is for characters to dress like people you see or know but this guy's nailing the fashion, especially the girls)...everything except charlie brown spider-man. but i'm glad i decided to pick up the first two issues of this as i wasn't going to after excrementum...ultimatum i mean.
guess no one read strange tales...that shit was awesome. lots of content.
^^^my shop only got like 2 copies...bastards lol
i have it on re-order
i was most interested in the doctor strange story and paul pope's lockjaw story...and of course that cover lol
are all the stories in a humorous vein?
