its called gentrification and its a fucked up process. The long-term effects of it are damaging to the current residents of the neighborhood.
Nicer houses and apartments will raise the property value of the land the old houses that surround them, in turn raising the tax levels and usually the rent because really the owners of the property want you to move out so that they can sale off the lot to commercial developers for WAAAAY more than what they paid for it in the first place.

It's unfortunate that people are scared to tell on drug dealers because they'll be afraid for their life because the police can't protect them 24/7.

As long as the demand is there there's gonna be suppliers.

A snitch is someone looking out for thier own interest. this woman was looking out for her childrens and neighborhoods.
Bad neighborhoods wouldnt look like shit if the ppl who lived in the cared about anything other than thier beer and weed. Oh and if they werent so fucking lazy.

A snitch is not someone who calls the cops on a drug dealer. A snitch is one involved in criminal activitie, gets caught, and tells on another criminal to get a reduced sentance.
Kids nowadays refer to snitching as just talking to the cops which is a lie.
