Anyone see Black Adam?
How is the new all quiet on the western front?
The edge of the axe was on tonight.
Don Corleone had all the judges and the politicians in New York, and he must share them. He must let us draw the water from the well. Certainly, he can present a bill for such services. After all, we are not Communists!
Watching old movies I guess.
I did see the new Clerks movie, which is pretty good, but tonally a very different film to the first 2. I wouldn't call it a comedy.
I tried to watch the new Hellraiser. Don't waste your time.
Watched the the Weird al "biopic.".
There are some good jokes in there. Worth watching. Radcliffe has a good performance.
^ I might check that out.
I watched 4 Rooms which is really dumb. Its like a shitty Tarantino flick
Can anyone suggest any good cop/investigative movies?
I finally watched True Detective seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 is classic but season 2 was a let down. How it ended was terrible.
Anybody watch, What we do in the shadows? Is it worth watching?
There is an updated movie with some of the original actors from a christmas story.
Matilda, the musical (Netflix). It's as good as the film with DeVito from back in the day. Emma Thompson is fantastic as the head mistress. The choreography in the school scenes is entertaining to say the least.
Merry Xmas everyone.
The french comedy Amelie from 2001, I think. Very lovely film to watch with the Mrs.
^^Yes, they actually show all the couples having sex in that scene.
I watched this the other day. Decent film.
pennyworth, based on batmans butler when he was young. show caught me off guard how dope it is.also love the dark , almost dystopian retro futuristic london atmosphere. highly recommend this. some of the villains got that gotham vibe to them and alfred aint no slouch
I have been watching West Country Tales on YT. Similar to Tales from the Darkside here in the U.S.. 80s thriller series. @ShaDynasty have you any recollection of this show?
Handmaid's Tale S5
this 3rd & final version of SpiceDiver's fan edit of David Lynch's 'Dune', the so called Redux version, is vastly better than both the theatrical release (producer cut at least an hour of footage) and the extended cut (the editing team that worked for tv made terrible choices)
this version is about 45 minutes longer than the theatrical release, gets rid of a lot of internal monologue from the same release and leaves out the unending exposition of the extended cut
version 3 of the fan edit also splits the movie into chapters and has greatly improved upon the image quality of the deleted scenes that were added in - the same goes for the audio of said scenes
THE definite version of 'Dune' - the whole plot makes sense now and is pretty close to the book. Obviously the guy go who came up with this supreme fan edit got rid of the stupid ending (rainfall scene) from the theatrical release as well
You will NOT regret watching this
music by Toto and Brian Eno remains intact - wonderful score
^Good post!
I've watched The Master for the sixth time. Great film.
^2nd this. I watched the original years ago, and thought it was an average film. Will be interested to see this.
Mare of Easttown (HBO). Yeah I'm late to the party lol
I watched Avatar. Way of the Water yesterday. Good movie.
Westworld S2. Too lazy to watch S1 again (it's been 4 years or so) and even with a recap article the show's not making any sense. lol. at least I know they all want to get out into the real world. I only remembered 2 characters from S1. damn lol
Bushwick movie on Netflix. Pretty good for what it is. Inspired work by the cameramen and good instrumental soundtrack by Aesop Rock.
Luc Besson's spy thriller 'Anna'. It's set in 1990 and everyone is using cell phones. Stuff like that drives me crazy.
They had cellphones in the 90s.

True, they had those white bricks and also car phones already in the year 1990, but in the Besson movie it's already little black cells. Also small black laptops and usb drives. That stuff threw me off
Is that pic from Basic Instinct?
I watched the CharlesJones approved straight to dvd release 'Doing Hard Time' (2004). Sticky Fingaz has a small part in it. Michael Kenneth Williams is predictably good in this.
This review is hilarious http://filmcriticsunited.com/hardtime.html
but it forgets to mention that, after a rocky start, this movie is solid, esp. once the action moves to prison. The lead, Boris Kodjoe, is not an especially talented actor. The supporting cast is better.
I was surprised to find this movie on Netflix. They put it under arthouse cinema. lol
