New Ghost album on Mass Appeal

Of course. ThatÂ’s #1 priority. Definitely above what a niche (progressively getting smaller) community of die hard wu headÂ’s musical/personal opinions are.
BUT there comes a point where you gotta be smarter wit ur bread or hire someone that can do it for you.
Granted, I obviously donÂ’t know anybody from Wu and IÂ’m def not usin my time to pocket watch em either but at the ages of these men they should be able to comfortably create the music that THEY enjoy and want to create. Ghost was selling 300 dollar Xmas vinyls with like 4 songs on it. He sells toys, coffee, merch etc. So I’m not buying that he’s gotta eat as an excuse to put out weak music. Peace

I think it's more than using old rhymes. Now people hear beats and write to it, which is cool. The first few verses we heard from wu, that had be spitting those verses for years. Using them in battles, using them in ciphers, using them in freestyles. So by the time they hit wax, they had perfected the delivery and feel of it. Today's verses, from most rappers, sounds like you're trying to take up an obligated time slot with and obligated verse.

Right now, the wu members deliver their 36 chambers verses better than they did on the albums because they've spent so much time with the, reciting them, performing them etc

either way this ghost project is good

What the fuck is with that fisher price bongo sound on Locked In? I was checking if I was being called on some weird ass app in my browser. Trap Phone has a bass drum that overkills all other things. This album just sounds off. Also, a lot of these tracks would have done better as remixes on mixtapes.

Fans work 40 hours at a job they do not like, so they can spend money on music they dont like by their favorite artist? See that is a bit weird. I understand everybody gotta eat. But if you come up to me with some shitty ass product, like hell I am going to buy it from you. Even if I was a fan or friend. I'll be real and say it is wack. You gotta do better, or go on a beer run. I'll give you a twenty to do that. But not this. That raises the question: For who was this made? Because it ain't me.

Everyone has their time. Some longer than others. Wus was way longer than most. But expecting 5 mic albums in 2024 from 55 year olds is a little childish. And i think some of you just cant adapt. Well if you dont get it by now, dont thini you will.

I understand you can not rap the same shit you wrote when you were in your 20's. People grow, and so can your music. This evolution could be seen with 12 Reasons & Sour Soul. In my opinion, that sounded good, and could have been a step into a 5 mic album from a 55 year old. You got a great point with Ghost wanting to be more like Bad Boy and that appeal. It seems he has been chasing that ever since Cherchez La Ghost, and you could argue about the success of that. So why would you still want to chase that? Maybe Ghost is more stuck that his fans.

No point getting bent outta shape about it like ive been seeing. Its got some dope joints imo. Not a proper ghost album but thats been 10 years + now.

Sadly we have to accept this as reality. And wu fans gotta stop judging wverything against the 5 mic classics. There hasnt been a 5 mic album in hip hop in years and yet people judge every wu album as 60 yr olds against 30 yr old albums. Yet people still asking for 93 beats on 2023 releases. Its insanity to me.

Went back to this album thinking I needed to give it another shot. Is there 3 good songs on this album only? This is one of the worst Wu solo albums ever. So many cringe worthy tracks. Thank god a “Ghost helmed Wu album” never happened. Peace

I’m more interested in that Masta solo album that’s supposedly “coming soon”. Announced a while ago, Balance, executive produced by RZA, first single featuring Meth and Snoop Dogg….allegedly.
