Pool halls that don't serve liqour should help out with that man. You're crazy with that 3 40's shit, I drink like a beast and 3 40's gets me shit faced. Thats only malt liqour though, if its like coors or fuckin bud or some gay shit like that it's not doing nothing for me. Throw me some steely though and I get retarded. i admit though i havent tried fuckin around with the malt liquor I don't even know my tolerance with that, and really only started liking beer since I was 21 years old - I'm closing in on 22 1/2 now
I'm a lil dude though 145lbs I'm sure I have a lower tolerance than U when it comes to malt liquor
And I never said there was no benefit to it....just because I think the harmfulness outweighs the benefits by far doesn't mean I am only taking the bad points. It is stupid to assume that I have to come to the assessment that it is ok to be objective in this.
The fact is the good points are few and in a grey area themselves.
I heard a statistic a while back...and it was some huge proportion - maybe 20% or something....something pretty large- of doctors costs in Australia (paid by tax payers btw) is linked to alcohol. You can bring up a few minor health benefits....but I would argue that the harmful effects again are much more. Also, I seriously doubt the only way to combat eye disease is through alcohol.....I think modern medicine is pretty lacking alot of the time...quick fixes.
I do agree that people who drink and act like idiots were idiots to begin with, but it makes it worse. And the fact you need to get chicks drunk to pick em up isn't selling me either.
The thing I find with these arguments is that I often just have a different level of definitions in life to most people who drink. You might say it doesn't have any huge effect....but you may not notice it precisely because you are affected.
People who drink seem to have less concetration span to me, less focus, less ability to memorize and generally think. Now, maybe they were like this to begin with....but habitually utilizing something that shuts down parts of the brain (everyone here arguing against me seems to side step the FACT this is how it operates) is not likely to develop their mind very far.
Like I said studies here showed significant differences in social drinkers for memory and mental disorders (nevermind people who drink to excess). I think most people who drink have an apathetic attitude to begin with, but alcohol seems to indulge it.
Now you might say....hey, I am fine..my brain works. Works for what? This is where we probably differ on our ambitions in life...I will probably spend the rest of my working life dealing with calculus, matrix algebra and differential equations day in and day out and applying it to real life situations. I NEED to be able to think. I NEED concentration, memory and focus. I am a thinker by nature...I go through at least a book a week even when my exams and shit are on.
Now, if people want to just get a job - supermarket, factory or a trade then maybe that's fine for them. But humanity isn't made by those people. It is made by people who push their minds.
I believe a person's way to happiness in life is through understanding reality correctly. And this isn't easy. Alcohol to me is just a huge distraction at best, and at worst a huge obstacle, to living a happy life.
But ultimately I guess we just disagree. And that's fine. If I am right then you will pay a price for your choices, and if you are right I will have missed out on alot of fun. So reality will be the judge of who was right, and who lied to themselves.
Also, a person who tried alcohol is n no position to objectively observe the effects on themselves. LOL.
If they are dumber they are likely to think they are fine lol. But like I said it is a fact anyway.

my left brain wants to argue that there are many exceptions to those rules (myself, certain folk in KTL, the Wu Clan who drink)
but my right thinks they're probably mostly true on the big scale
also I wanna add I think the majority of society is for the most part dumb and share those qualities of low concentration, memory, focus, ect ect anyway w/o alcohol. As in, if alcohol was taken away they'd probably remain that way, and do remain that way for those who don't drink anyway.
I don't know anybody personally who drinks and has a genuine drive & passion in life that let alcohol stop that.

I agree. Everyone is free to make their own decisions. I just don't like that the harmful side is totally ignored....it is misleading to young people.

Like I always knew they drank, but there was always the Muslim/vegetarian/qi gong side to them. I always put it down to the momentum of habit.
I guess its the escapism that I don't like. I don't deny that I have my own forms of that - food, women, shopping lol....but I wish I had more control over them too.
