People knowing about the way the album was put together shows their opinion is not based on the actual music.
The only thing that might be a little bit forced is the strong guitar over the verses in Unpredictable. Other than that it's perfect.

I agree with this...the engineering is top-notch.
I think "musically" it's a masterpiece.
"Wu-Tang Forever" is untouchable.
But "8-Diagrams" is dope in both the beats and lyrics department
Some of the sickest new wave beats I've heard
I applaude RZA for bringing something new to the table...
I've said it before and I'll say it again :
"We Ran Through That Chamber Dun"
--Raekwon
This to me proves how narrow minded people can be.
I like evolution, change in an artist.
This is what seperates the Professionals from the Virtuosos.
I'm white and I love it...And I only listen to Hip-Hop
Nothing else what so ever.
I'm interested to see why you think that though Hollow ?
Is Geezy & Weezy lame black boy shit ?
Why do you think this,is it because it has structure and order throughout ?
Meaning it's too polished and not raw enough for you ?
The Wu-Tang sound is there in my opinion...it's just a new chamber.
The beats are definatly not the problem for me with the album
The only thing I find it looses points for is too many 3-man tracks
When you are a Clan, you should use that to your advantage.
by the way hollow. i used to have the same opinion as you about the whole people that like rock like 8 diagrams, but i was proven wrong. check out this poll that i did last year. you actually posted in it too. it seems that hip-hop heads only and rock lovers both like 8D.

With an album as "different" as 8 diagrams, you are bound to have a wide range of opinions, all of which are equally as valid.
Nobody can label something completely subjective like music, art, food, beauty, whatever, as it is all in the eye of the beholder.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Everyone's opinions are equally as valid.
Except for the French.
its been said and i'll say it again... theres HIP HOP and theres WU TANG.
if you know what good music is, after you listen to 8D, you can tell RZA put his heart and soul into it cuz hes reppin for the rest of 7 niggaz... he aint sling that spontaneous Bob Digi type shit in it at all, even SUNLIGHT tho its a RZA dolo the production has Wu written all over it. it aint even debatable, Digi Snacks may i say this.. WACK compared to 8D and both albums were dominantly RZA produced album.
i guess yall wanted more of the 90s sound since it was the first RZA steered album since IF but if you feel its weak cuz it lacked a 'hip hop feel' yall buggin.
i don't have a problem with somebody not liking 8D, but the people who don't like it, seem to have a problem with me. sorry, i don't think 36 chambers is the greatest album in the world anymore. it just sounds so dated to me. i like 8 diagrams, i'm sorry. i apologize. is there a rehab i can go to so i can cure myself. speaking of rehab, i wasn't a big fan of big doe rehab. please kill me.
i just think that it's funny that people shit on rza for this album because it is new and experimental and they don't like that... well wasn't 36 chambers new and experimental? wasn't OB4CL new and experimental? wasn't wu-forever new and experimental? wasn't bobby digital new and experimental?
^^ i really dont know if ur joking right now or if ur serious, idk
but IMO, Wucorp Army Mixtape >>> >>> >>> 8d (no joke)
because i really dont care if its...
...cos if i wanna listen to music i listen to fukkin Beethoven or some shit and not Wu-Tang
i mean theres hundreds of ways to create a new chamber, why does it have to be the slow/boring/soft chamber?????
different, smifferent
people liked it or hated it because of how it sounded in their ears.
most people here on both sides of this argument love bobby digital in stereo and wu-tang forever. both which sounded nothing like those mid 90s wu albums. the W sounded a whole lot like like 90s wu and a good number of people dont like it.
people didnt like 8D because it didnt sound good...simple and plain.
i am serious. if i had to guess, wu-tang forever passed up 36 chambers probably around the year 2000 for me. i still like 36 chambers, but it just sounds dated. wu-forever does not. it is timeless. if you are a rap fan and never heard 36 chambers before, and i played any one of the songs off of 36 chambers, you would know that it was from 1993 or 1994. but if i played you a song off of wu-forever, any one of those songs could be from 95 up til today.
and for whatever reason, i like 8 diagrams better than wu-forever now. maybe that will change in a few years. but if i had to put my top 13 songs from forever up against the 13 on 8D, wu-forever would win.
In Stereo & Forever actually DID have the 90s sound, LATE 90s sound. there werent too much 'experimental' sounds being used. it was just more of a mature RZA sound as he WAS gettin mature with his knowledge of gear and music in general. its just that he was mostly inclined with the HIP HOP sound.
i can't argue you guys if you say you don't like it, but if you keep saying they aren't hip hop beats, you don't know what you are talking about. they just happen to be hip-hop beats you don't like, and emperors raekwon and ghostface told you not to like them because there were some guitars, so you say it's not hip hop
first 6 albums meaning 36 Chambers & the first wave of solos [5] ?
of course FOREVER and IN STEREO is gonna sound different from them, we talkin about a MAJOR SOPHOMORE GROUP ALBUM which at the time was hyped as much or bigger than PAC's ALL EYEZ ON ME also the fact that FOREVER was a double LP in hip hop only 2nd to ALL EYEZ ON ME. of course its gonna sound different than the first 5 solos. actually, to me it didnt sound all that different, it was much better crafted but not all that different.
and IN STEREO, its an ALTER EGO LP from the mastermind of the clan its intended to have a different sound to it with the whole digital concept. even still it had that RZA sound that was relevant in that era.
