wats good uncle ruckus
HA HA !!!!! best post in this thread
plz die a slow gruesome death
I only said it's of a much higher quality. To me that is indisputable.
I'm fine with people liking 36 more, or thinking it's more consistent or whatever, and it is without question a more important, impactful and legendary album, but the lyrics, mc'ing in general, and the production on Forever are of a much higher quality. That's just reality.
The Alchemist deserves more props for his beats.
95% mixtape DJs are fucken shitty. All they do is shout out and make a playlist(anyone can make one).
Nate Dogg can sing better than most singers(aka american idol) because they all same the same.
Too many people don't listen 100% of the time to their taste. They keep shit because others say its good.
LOL@what Chungsanity said about Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. What a shame that most of their albums suck because they're good rappers. Chungsanity i'm surprised you dissed Common's Resurrection album. That was his last good album.
lmao no doubt man. these conscious faggots need another profession in life. why dont they sell some drugs, roll a blunt, or paint a house. its kinda like Jordan playing baseball - its retarded and they try to apply their strengths in the wrong hobbie/profession which is hiphop. they should be another michael dyson, a hiphop scholar but not actually making songs. common, mos def, and kweli are all polluting the games - you might think thats ironic but its still the truth. THESE CONSCIOUS FAGGOTS ARE ALL UNCONSCIOUS. I could care less who Jigga shouted out on moment of clarity.
lmao @ common wanting to rewrite his verse after canibus murdered him on making a name for ourselves.
black star = overrated
train of thought = overrated
common should be happy that I supported his garbage finding forever album with the gay ass fruity album cover. thank god I trashed it afterwards.
LOL@what you said about Common's Finding Forever album cover hahahahahahahahahahahaha. His ass got soft after Resurrection album and Ice Cube diss song The Bitch In You. I don't know why these dudes change their style from being hardcore to soft. I just don't understand it. His first 2 albums are classics to me and the rest of his albums are soft. I miss the old Common Sense. I miss the old Talib Kweli too. I like his Reflection Eternal album with DJ Hi-Tek. I haven't heard his other albums but i'm betting they aren't as good as Reflection Eternal. I also agree with what you said about Outkast's Atliens album. That album sucks but i like about 3 songs on that album. Elevators, Atliens, Ova Da Woodz songs are real good. I stopped liking them after the first album. Their music is too weird to me and i don't like how Andre turned soft and weird. He was rhyming hardcore on the first album and he was normal then. He should've never changed.
Common's first album sucked. Get a job UncleTomJones
LOL@you think his first album sucked. Whatever. I got 2 jobs. Do you have a job? Probably not because you spend most of your time on here.
atliens is a classic don't fuckin hate on it because you can't recognize good rap music
so youre laughin at common for wanting to raise tha bar on his skills? what type of shit is thatQuote:

even if he stepped it up, he wouldve still been burned. cant forget to say his flow was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS on making a name for ourselves. he cant flow to say his life.
the only good songs in his entire career since 92 are resurrection and I used to love her. everything else is trash
atliens probably had like 2 or 3 decent songs outta the entire album. that little cant make a classic album. they will never top their debut.
I think my big one is that jeru's first album sucked
immortal technique is an awful emcee. His flow is garbage. I guess on wu-corp there are others who don't care for him but outside of wu corp everyone seems to think highly of him.
jedi mind tricks is kinda gay...
immortal technique isn't the best emcee but he's the most prolific underground emcee in modern times, garbage flow or notQuote:

4. O.C. has one of the sickest flow ever, even better considering he wasn't even rhyming words together at various points in his verse's.
That'll do for now.
1. how is that? Ready To Die's impact for the eastcoast in '94 was immeasurable.
2. I agree, even though RD's my favorite album. RD wouldve never been thought of without illmatic.
3. that joint she did with technique (the illest) was tight. I still think prime Foxy brown in the 90's is the illest female rapper.
4. Im not saying shit about that
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. I understand its impact but compared to what else came out that year, it wasn't classic to me. I feel that it got weaker towards the end bar Unbelievble & Suicidal Thoughts.
2. Salute!
3. Each to their opinions but notice that I didn't categorize "female rapper". Foxy's bars were written by others for her. Foxy isn't diverse on her topics. Jean Grae will BODY a lot of highly thought of male emcees!!
4. Not saying shit? You agree or disagree?
Peace
No http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...eandletdie.jpg
No cuban linx
Every artist was influenced by another, no idea is original.
Not quite, but thanks for trying.
You'd have done better just throwing up Kool G Rap's picture.
why did jayz decide to completely switch his flow up shortly after the first wave of wutang singles and illmatic? why did jay have az sittin at tha table countin guap in his music videos? wu tang and nas influenced everyone in new york including jay z like it or notQuote:

Case in point It Ain't Hard To Tell; "My mic check is life or death, breathing a sniper's death...I drank Moet with Medusa, give her shotguns in hell".
Can I Live; "Hand dead in the mic, forgettin all I ever knew, convenient amnesia" and Bring It On; "Money make the world go around so I made songs to spin" (One of Jay's best ever line!!!).
All in all, what I'm trying to say is that Jay noticed the small details and ran with it plus he was a big fan of Nas. With the Cuban Linx issue, I see where you're coming from, I believe that the drug/player niche was an image/persona decision but Illmatic inspired, lyrically.
im jus sayin jay is a nas STAN before anything so its no mystery why he would switch his flow during tha more formative years of his career... why u think jay got so hurt when nas said jay was his son LOL
Pac is mad overrated...... MAD MAD overrated..... yeah I said it..... get over it.......
Common..... been wack since he dropped "Sense" from his name.....
Talib Kweli.... is sometimes..... annoyin'.....
Kanye is a wack rapper and a wack producer......
Nas is horrible at pickin' beats.....
That's all I got for now.......
Here i'll explain myself better -
About Jeru - don't get me wrong, he is one of my favorite emcees. IMO the production on the sun rises in the east is wack minus Da Bitchez. I don't care for DJ premiers work on that album at all so the beats ruin it for me.
Chungsanity - ik its a dope picture of boston, but I don't even remember how I found it : /

Im gonna end my 10 unpopular commandments with 4 more:
7. Eminem's delivery is weak as fuck. dont get it twisted, this isnt a race thing but if he had that crazy voice like Vinnie Paz, he would sound much doper. someone already mentioned Em's delivery = weak in this thread to prove my point so props to whoever said it.
8. Snoop Dogg's prime was only in 92-93 during The Chronic/Doggystyle era. he's been trash since then.
9. Prodigy is the most underrated rapper ever especially lyrically. in his prime, he was overshadowed by the Big/Pac beef, and when Takeover dropped, he was still dropping real shit. I miss P dearly and I hope he continues dropping fire once he leaves jail.
Apostle's Warning = top 5 verse in hiphop of all-time, and Im probably the only one to realize that.
10. the most infamous opinion: Reasonable Doubt is the greatest hiphop album ever. who gives a shit if it didnt impact the game immediately. 13 years later, every joint still sounds fresh. RD > OBFCL lyrically and production wise, especially when it comes to honest thought-provoking lyrics. the mafioso image mightve been inspired but haters gotta realize RD was HARDLY about the cosa nostra shit. he has lines about classic gangsta characters here and there, but it was mostly about hustlin and the decisions you should make in life between good or bad.
RD > Illmatic. Nas made it a hot line, Hov made it a hot song. reduce RD's 14 tracks to 10 like Illmatic and yall would say RD in a different way. that's why illmatic is probably the most safe album to praise, cause it never had that extra track or 2 or 3 to degrade it.

5. Eminem really isnt that good, his delivery and flow is weak and a lotta times he really aint got shit to say.... hope Relapse is decent maybe ill change my opinion
6. Reasonable Doubt > Illmatic... I like Jay and Nas about the same and I think they are both all time greats but like the above poster says every track is still fresh and it seems to resonate with me much more
7. dont get the fascination with Big Pun, Fat Joe or Pimp C... sorry to lump em all together
How the hell is guru overrated?
soulja boy is entertaining.... "hopped up out the beeeed, turn my swag on" albeit a terrible rapper its all in good fun when youre drunk
busta rhymes is one of the best n is prolly the most consistant relevant rapper...dude's had #1 hits from all his albums since he started in 96 and is still mad underrated
y'all hate on nas too much
and how is em's flow n delivery weak??
Ok maybe I was a little hasty when I said Ems flow was weak, the point I really wanted to get across was that I think hes boring and I dont care too much for his lyrics... I will stand corrected because I do like his flow
