anyone catch the fight? Maidana certainly didn't disappoint.
and lol @ mayweathers entrance wtf?
The fight was great yesterday, and I expect a rematch.
Mayweather is melodramatic. Don't fall for the hype.

Money fears Pac-Man

He wins fights by running around the ring instead of trying to finish his opponents....mediocore boxing
floyd was gettin his ass beat the whole first half of the fight, i wouldnt have been surprised if the judges gave the fight to Maidana. Good for Floyd though
I had Floyd winning the fight.
yup. he looked scared when they were announcing the winner though lol. im not big on boxing but was surprised he never kept his distance like he does in all other fights
Adrien Broner was suspended by the WBC for his Racial comments he made after his win over Molina. The WBC will lift the suspension if he makes a public apology satisfactorily to the public of the world.
Adrian is someone who is look more, and more to be overrated; In his fight vs Marcos Maidana Adrian got exposed. If you put him in the ring vs any of the top ten guys in the Welterweight Division, or the Junior Welterweight Division I take the other person.
I had Mayweather winning 7-5 rounds, I wasn't impressed by PBF, Maidana does deserve a rematch I believe. Most exciting Mayweather fight I seen in a long time.
I think he does too, however I think it be a one sided Mayweather win.
Bermane Stiverne defeated Chris Arreola yesterday to win the vacant WBC Heavyweight championship. He is the first ever Haitian-born fighter to win a Heavyweight title. The WBC Heavyweight title was vacated by Vitali Klitschko, because he retired, so he could focus more on his Political career. What this does is open the door to unify the Heavyweight championship belts since Bermane has one, and Wladimir has the other three, so hopefully that fight takes place. There has not been a undisputed Heavyweight Champion since Lennox Lewis in April of 2000.
Pacquiao Signed a two year Extension With Top Rank, so that means it will be at least another two years before him, and Mayweather fight.
This week The Ring Magazine Light Heavyweight Champion, Adonis Stevenson, is going to put his Ring Magazine championship along with the WBC title on the line vs Andrzej Fonfara on Showtime, however many see this is a cop-out by Stevenson, because days before he was suppose to sign a deal to fight the dangerous Sergey Kovalev, who is undefeated, Adonis left HBO, and many say it's because he was scared. Since one is on HBO, and the other on Showtime the politics of boxing will play a role, so don't expect that fight to take place anytime soon, so now the big fight for Adonis that might take place later this year is him vs B-Hop to unify the titles, but that's if an upset does not take place this Saturday.
As far as Sergey Kovalev goes, he might be left in limo for the time being.
Oh yeah, ande their might be a fifth fight between Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao, and although they already have faced each other five times I won't mind if they fight again, because everytime they step in the ring togehter it's a classic fight, and although JMM sent Pacman to sleep last time if they do fight again am going with Manny to win, because if you watch the last fight, Manny was winning that fight, and was in control until JMM hit the lotto punch.
Am really looking forward to the Carl Froch vs George Groves rematch tonight, their last fight was great, and I expect no less this time.
I wonder what will happen to Golden Boy Promotions now that CEO Richard Schaefer has left the company.
So who's going to win the Cotto vs Martinez fight tomorrow? I say Martinez by late round stoppage. Am thinking in the eleventh round.
Cotto looked great tonight.
Sergio Martinez you had a great career, but I think it's time you called it a day, and hey you have one of the best knockouts I have ever seen.
Man that fight was awesome
Cotto that nigga
So am hearing that Top Rank's top ranked man in charge Bob Arum, and Golden Boy Promotions head man in charge Oscar De La Hoya are going to start working together, and that could be a great thing for boxing, because of all the great fights we could see. I have to wonder though are they now working together, because Pretty Boy Money Mayweather has left Golden Boy, or is that just a coincidence?
So what boxing fight would you rather see: Cotto vs Canelo or Cotto vs Golovkin?
There was no doubt in my mind that Cotto was gonna win, he is back on his A-game, very impressive. I would like to see him fight Canelo Alvarez or GGG.
Another exciting fight I watched was this weekend, Provodnikov vs Algieri. After Algieri got knocked down 2x in the 1st & basically fought with 1 eye he came back to upset the champ in a split decision win. & a very deserved win imo, Algieri fought an exceptional fight & made me a fan of his. I was in complete awe when the judges agreed with me & gave Algieri the decision.
Andrade also fought on the same card & fought exceptionaly well.
I was going for Provodnikov. Dammit. I was fearing that the judges were counting the small punches against him. He needs to just pwer through it and do small jabs as well, which he didn't. Solid fight.
I hope he doesn't let deter his next few fights. Give em Rios. lol
I did not watch the fight, because I watched UFC 174, and that was a huge mistake.
Belgian Jean-Pierre 'Junior' Bauwens has taken the European lightweight title today from Hungarian Gyorgy Mizsei.
Bauwens comes from a family with various autistic brothers and sisters. One of his autistic brothers stabbed his father to death because the old wanker was having an affair.
Only in Belgium.
Anyway, since no footage is available yet check out this arthouse outtake.
Evander Holyfield has retired from boxing, I wish him the best in his post boxing career.
I thought he was heavyweight champion of one of the belts?
Nope.
I remember he had won a belt a couple years back. Did he lose it or give the belt up?
It wasn't a major title.
So maybe he just kept it then? lol
It looks like there shall be a rematch between Maidana and Mayweather.
.Quote:
British boxing star Amir Khan was reportedly arrested after an incident where he allegedly injured two men following a confrontation in Heaton.
Miranda Newey of the Bolton News reports that neither of the victims were seriously hurt, with injuries to a cheek and a leg, according to police. They were apparently acquaintances of the boxer, although a direction connection was not established.
The report included comments from a witness:
Amir was saying don't you know who I am, I am AK.
We have always looked up to him as a role model with him being a Muslim and successful.
It is going to cause tension in the community. He is a world champion, an adult, the people involved are aged 19.
Sky Sports News provided an update on the situation:
No further details about the nature of the incident or the charges was provided.
Khan last fought in early May when he defeated Luis Collazo by unanimous decision to become the WBC Silver and WBA International Welterweight champion. It marked with third straight victory to bring his career record to 29-3.
He's been mentioned as a potential opponent for undefeated and current pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. It's too early to tell whether this situation will have any impact on the possibility of him landing that bout later this year or in 2015.
Once further details are released it should paint a clearer picture about how it will affect Khan moving forward. That said, putting himself in a position where this type of negative attention would result is a mistake to begin with, even if it only ends up being minor.
The Bolton News report notes Khan was previously arrested in 2006 after an accident that resulted in an injury to a pedestrian. He was fined and banned from driving for six months as a result.
Erislandy Lara vs Saúl Álvarez is this week, and am picking Lara to win.
