Bruce Wayne as an internet troll may be the coolest thing in an issue that was pretty much some kind of awesome in every panel.

Burnham's Bruce looks creepy and plastic in some panels, but other than that, the artwork was amazing. This is how you tell a story in a visual medium, one panel of Dark Ranger being inducted into Batman, Inc (with no words) and I already know the basics of his character.

Been reading comix since age 8. Still read em somewhat, but mostly went through all of the Vertigo stuff since then. I am not caught up on all the newest ish. Only followed DC up to the end of Final Crisis and haven't really read any of the major storylines since. Sounds like Morrison on Batman Inc. is the hotness right now? For Marvel, I dropped off Uncanny since way back in the Jim Lee / Portacio days but have read Morrison's run on New X-Man and a couple of the relatively newer trades like Messiah complex.

Can anyone recommend a site to download some older runs and newer? I've been into reading some of the older series lately, like Wolfman/Perez Teen Titans, JM Mattheis on Justice League International etc. lol. I'm reading through Hickman's run on FF and thinking about downloading the long Kirby/Lee FF stuff.

look in the older thread for some downloadable links. for current titles use filestube to find what your looking for or use a demonoid.

I got this comic from free comic day called Locke & Key which i thought was pretty sweet. has anyone read into it?

Did you buy the Fall HC? It looks awesome! I think y\the next x-men omnibus is Claremont/Lee. Was there one before the Fall of the Mutants?

Yeah there was one for Inferno, which I owned until my girlfriend's sister's toddler pulled it off of the shelf and destroyed it...like beat it against a wall, dragged it around until pages started to come out, etc. (I was not around when this happened or I would probably be in jail as a child murderer lol)

I ended up not buying Fall of the Mutants because I needed to get my car A/C fixed lol

But hey... allred's x-force/x-statix is getting an omnibus HC in november...that bitch is going to look schweet next to my Madman Gargantua and Atomica HCs

flashpoint wasn't bad and i think you need to give it a chance its coming out as a whole so far to me pretty good i don't min geoff johns writing at all

Just got Batman R.I.P and "Whatever happened to the caped crusader" trades (I know I'm late) and hope to make sense of the crazyness going on with Batz having read Final Crisis and The Return of Bruce Wayne.

Any suggestions after reading those two?

(don't even bother reading 703, it's not by morrison and it's pretty weak/boring/inconsequential, etc)

return of bruce wayne 4-6
batman and robin 16

and then batman, inc

dusk might recommend another reading order...i wish they had collected morrison's batman stuff like they did the 7 soldiers stuff, where it was released in publication order instead of in chunks that depend on the other chunks to tell the overall story

i JUST (i kno smh) finished reading Sandman: The Kindly Ones; saddest ive ever been after reading a graphic novel

the kindly ones is underrated

the wake is good, but kind of unecessary, imo

ya i avoided reading it for a while cuz i had a feeling what happened would happen, eloels, its one of the best things ive read too

^^ I really have to take some time and read the Sandman series. A friend of mine bought all the absolute hc's and sold me all the paperbacks for $10 each! A year ago and I still have to crack open volume 1!! Shameful!!

^^lol yea I know it!! I'm just started tackling Preacher this weekend when I'm done that I'll dedicate myself to Sandman.

Anyone recommend any X-Men related stories? I read the Astonishing run this weekend and I'm about to start the New X-Men Morrison run. I'm looking for either must read classics or any current stuff that is worthwhile.

the claremont/byrne stuff is classic (if you don't mind the retro/trashy writing style of 60s-80s marvel)--these are the best older x-men stories imo:

dark phoenix saga
days of future past
god loves, man kills
from the ashes
wolverine mini series
fall of the mutants
inferno

there are others, but these are all collected in some form, and are basically the core of what x-men's been about ever since.

the new x-force series is good...the allred/milligan x-statix/x-force is one of my favorite marvel series ever (what i've read of it) and the entire thing is getting an omnibus in november or december, but that's definitely not the typical x-book.

Pandemic can we get a little clarity on the order of the Batman series? Is that the order of the trades that you think should be read and then the issues in your opinion continue the story after?

I would like to read the story inorder as much as possible so how would you mix the issues that you mention into what the trades miss?

Correct me if I am wrong but in the list of the trades that you list to read the asterisks mean that the story is not in an actual trade, correct?

Those issues are in the trades with the asterisks next to them...I just feel like the order of the comics in the trades muddles the story, and that it flows better with the issue order that i gave you.

Thanks guys for your x-men related suggestions. I read all the Second Coming stuff before dropping all those titles. But now I realize how much I enjoy all the mutant stuff so I'm back collecting. Does anyone know the name of the storylines after Second Coming and which ones are worth checking out? What about X23?Any good? got a chance to read that tomb of dracula special. shit was good. a new samurai vampire has been thrown into the marvel universe.

and even though i think dc is about as interesting as watching paint dry at this point (not including vertigo), im looking forward to the return of the justice league international.

and a quick question. since they have 2 batmen running around now, which one is bruce?
is he the one with the costume where the bat symbol kinda sticks out a little bit?

ok. thats what i thought. puffy bat symbol = bruce. old school bat = greyson

i dropped off the bat books a while back, and knowing morrison, there is no getting back on. its waaaaaaayyyyy too detailed now.

and its just the dcu as a whole doesn't appeal to me in the slightest at the moment. no cohesive interaction between the characters & creators. its just really "meh" to me personally. i know im the minority in thinking that. most comic readers think of dc as the great funny book demi-god. i'm thinking the opposite at the moment, but to be honest, marvels been slacking off too.

and this has been the WORST storyline in new avengers since its started. i keep waiting for it to end and it just wont. its a good idea, but horribly executed. that books gonna need something kinda drastic to snap out of this bullshit.

oh aiight Pandemic, i gotcha. I'll get all the trades then read in that order through them when I get to those issues.
