Damn, this first round was a war.
Did you say war?! This eight minutes of fury was billed as “The War!” Greatest three rounds I have ever seen. Two of the Four Kings doing battle outdoors at Caesars Palace. You will not see this in our modern-day pugilism. These two came to put leather on skin – homicidal bad intentions!! I’m honored to say I saw this live.
----- Former boxing champ shot to death during robbery
ATLANTA (Reuters) - Former cruiserweight boxing champion O'Neil "Supernova" Bell was shot to death during a robbery as he exited a public transit bus in Atlanta early on Wednesday, police said.
An officer found Bell, 40, lying in the street, Atlanta police said. Another man nearby had also been shot but survived.
The survivor, who was taken to a local hospital, told police he and Bell were shot after first being robbed when they stepped off the bus, police said.
No arrests have been made, police said.
Born in Jamaica and known as "Supernova" throughout his career, Bell was the undisputed cruiserweight champion in 2006, winning the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Association and the International Boxing Federation titles after a 10th-round knockout of Jean-Marc Mormeck at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Bell lost a unanimous decision to Mormeck the following year in France.
Bell had a 27-4-1 career record, including 25 victories by knockout. His last appearance came in December 2011, when he beat Rico Cason in a first-round knockout.
This heavyweight fight has been absolutely awful so far. Vlad isn't even punching.
That was worse than Mayweather-Pacquaio but it'll be forgotten because Wlad lost. I think it's fair to say that the Klitschko's almost killed the heavyweight division.
Saturday’s Heavyweight Tempurpedic pillow fest was one of the worse fights I have ever seen. And the Klits were The Squared-Circle Kevorkians for how they slaughtered the sport – and I don’t mean that in a good way. If it wasn’t for headbangers like Roman Gonzalez, Triple G, Kovalev, Juan Francisco Estrada, Lucas Matthysse, Terence Crawford, Canelo, Naoya Inoue, Nicholas Walters and Pacman the bloodsport would have already been put out of its misery!
Can't believe I missed the Klitschko fight. Rematch in May apparantly.
Good thing this Buster wasn’t Douglas or even Mathis Sr. or else Mike would have had some major issues since he was already damaged goods by this time. This was his second fight after doing prison time. And after this fight, even though it didn’t last long, I knew Tyson was no longer Iron Mike. His reflexes just weren’t the same. And a short –arm boxer with shot reflexes is as good as an OJ Simpson glove that doesn’t fit. Same thing has happened to Pacman.
I've never seen this amatuer fight before in it's entirety. Only the knockout in highlight videos. Good quality video.
I was unaware this went down.
Another fight in it's entirety that I've never seen. Just remember the highlight videos of this dude bouncing off the ropes.
LMAO
Tyson must have been hit by the same phantom punch that did in Sonny Liston. Even a past his prime Mike never got dropped that hard!
That was a good thought keeping with the boxing theme of the thread. I'd like to think this would make for a good Randy Orton Outta Nowhere Slam.
LMAO at the announcers eat their words a second before the KO.
Kovelev a post fight remarks were awesome.
I love it I love the bad blood.
Called him Adonis "chickenson" and then made chicken/duck noises. LOL.
Can't wait to see he and Ward.
This fight looked so fake the day it happened.
It looks like Etienne takes his mouthguard out as he's knocked out.
Clifford Etienne made some bad decisions outside the ring:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clifford_EtienneQuote:
Well known heavyweight Clifford Etienne was arrested Wednesday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and the attempted murder of a police officer. Etienne allegedly robbed a local business, car-jacked a vehicle containing a woman and her children, then pulled a gun on police officers. He is being held in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison with a $70,000 bond.
On June 22, 2006, following his trial in Baton Rouge, Etienne was found guilty and sentenced to 150 years in prison without parole for an allegedly cocaine fueled crime spree that included robbing a check cashing business, carjacking and kidnapping a family, and attempting to shoot two policemen [1]. In April 2013 his sentence was reduced from 150 years to 105 years due to a technicality.
Anyone watching the frampton quigg fight this Saturday
Always liked this video think Bill Miller taught manny steward as well and a younger Thomas hearns
Madchild, amateur Tyson was extremely green and a little wild but man did he have power. He lost twice to Henry Tillman as an amateur but KO'ed him in the first round in the pros.
Madchild, no way could Etienne fake that! The way his knee buckled, he could have torn a ligament or meniscus. Last thing to go is the power, and that's definitely true with Tyson.
CJ Wisty, I'll be watching them two headbangers. I've seen Frampton once and he comes to fight. Haven't seen Quigg before so I'm looking forward analyze his skills, and find out if he's for real. Hopefully the winner will step up and duke it out with Rigondeaux.
I’m with you Madchild, some of Tyson’s fights looked like his opponents took dives, but not because they were paid off but because they didn’t want to eat Mike’s thunderbolts.
Kovelev vs Ward in November.
Worthy of the $
OOG, I have no beef paying pay-per-view cheese for that one. Just hope the undercard is decent. And if Ward beats Kalibos he should go straight to numero uno P4P because neither Gonzalez nor Golovkin have beaten someone as good as Kovalev.
Yea you could definitely make that claim.
Maybe Chocolatito will be in that undercard.
Golovkin/ Alvarez would be worthy the $ too.
Not a bad idea! Imagine if they have Golovkin as co-feature and Gonzalez in that card?! Maybe throw in El Gallo Estrada - kind of to marinate his fight with Chocolatito early next year.
I doubt Canelo-GGG gets made for Sept. Alvarez is not ready for The Ring Reaper. I see Canelo officially moving to 160 at the start of 2017 and fighting someone like Billy Joe Saunders or Andy Lee then Golovkin in Sept. of 2017.
Either wag it looks like we have some real good fights coming up.
I love Kovelev. He's not afraid to run his mouth. He says fuck being politically correct. He's Russian they don't give a shit about this spoiled US social issue bullshit.
This is boxing.
Yep, 2016 is looking pretty good. And Kalibos is a beast! He has the same nasty disposition outside the ring that he has inside. What you see is what you get, and in this day and age of so-called reality tv, which is scripted, and so many being so fearful of being politically incorrect, it is good to see someone who marches to the beat of his own drum. It never gets tiring of watching him, Golovkin and Roman Gonzalez devour the competition. These three are offensive minded machines! And I'm glad they are the top 3 P4P fighters on the planet, instead of an extremely defensive minded Floyd. We boxing fans are bloodthirsty for carnage like back in the Mayan days.

Timothy Bradley vs Manny Pacquiao III tomorrow, who do you got?
As a "casual" fan of boxing, the "Timothy Bradley vs Manny Pacquiao III" fight sucked. Bradley seemed like he wasn't in the mood to fight. Perhaps, it's because Pacquiao put him off his game. Pacquiao didn't seem spectular either.
Not sure if this was boring because they're both elite fighers and they make it a technical fight based on scoring rounds.
The first knockdown seemed that Bradley was off balance. He never seemed to get back into the fight after knowing that it was a potential 10-8 round. The second knockdown he was rocked though.
