As you get older, it becomes more difficult to learn another language. Their children will be able to speak it fluently though.
Those jobs are usually taken because they cannot be filled by a citizen.

A guy I know who works in construction was talking about this subject with a co-worker of his. His co-worker, even though being upset over this same subject cause of it taking money out of his pocket stated that if he had a construction business he'd do the same. Well they just recently initiated a new test for highschool students to take before receiving a diploma. regardless of grades if you fail thats it no diploma. no continued education you must either try again or start working minimum wage jobs.
This test has created a lot of 18 year old adults with no diploma.
all of these adults will now be considered second class citizens because of their education. and most of the students that fail these tests are from the low income/ working income families with schools that are overpopulated with sub standard materials. It seems to me only those that have money will soon be the ones with the proper education and getting the good jobs while the rest just slave away the days in debt.
I mean ain't nothing being taken from us that the government hasn't already taken and spent on WAR and JAILS for the people right?
It seems to me the keep building more jails and spending more money on space but its a hot item to talk about immigrants who built this nation.

have you guys met a person that expressed that they didnt want to learn english, and they would put all their energy into not doing it?
think logically, its counter intuitive for an immigrant to refuse to learn the language, these people come to another country to benefit, so why would they purposefully prevent themselves from doing so?

prolifical eng put it well, the next generation will be fluent speakers, and will probably by bi lingual, which is a positive contribution to the country in which they live.

look at italians in the US, and the irish, now decendents of these groups are considered fully fledged americans, and the prejudice has been shifted to Middle Eastern people and to a lesser extent Central & South Americans.
its just a cycle, in a few generations there will be little difference between an arab american and a "white" american.
