ready to die is dope....its life after death thats overrated(imho)
I'LL bet real money that most of you talking about this album didnt even hear it when it came out. Didnt know about the times and cant relate.
Yeah.... its over rated now. Its fuckin old and he only had 2 albums. The best one was Life after Death and you cant really even say that was his best work cus he had other shit in mind for the next joint and by then he would have been on another subject.
Biggie could Flow about anything he was going thru. If he would have seen his way past the bullshit and been able to tell us about the "real" times (whats really going on with society and how we can escape properly) then he could of done it real smooth but he never got his chance.
MF's need to let it go like we need to let go Wu-Tang puttin out albums. That shit is in its time and this is some other shit. Yeah there can be Roots but God Damn ....
Let a MF rest in peace.
Yeah, i was 7 or 8 at the time.
Ive got no context.
Its no offense its just that , that is a record of the time. Crack and all. Cmon now. If you dont know then you dont know.
No i understand.
Thing is, only way i can judge the album is when i listen to it now.
I just don't appreciate other people of similar age trying to imply that they understand the context simply because they live in Nebraska...
haha yeah
I gotta say that
listening to "runaway slave" for the first time in 08 as a 28 yr old that should of heard it back in 94 or whatever ... it aint grab me as much as if I would have heard Machine gun funk or things done changed or one more chance or juicy or the what or everyday struggle orrrrrrrrme and my bitch or unbelievable oRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I heard all them good versions of big (sinatra...duets.....gnarls biggie)
that record is straight set in its time.
....even Cobain killed himself around that time.
add it up.
I would bet dollars to donuts you never even heard the album. Wherever your negative opinion comes from, it certainly doesn't come from listening to the album and giving it a chance. Perhaps a fat man ate your little sister and you blame it on Biggie. Oh wait, I forgot you like listening to Warcloud talk about wizards and goblins and flying tanks that run on farts, rather than a real muhfucka talkin' about real problems. I apologize.
This album is not overrated, the only thing this album doesn't have is Chino XL type of punchlines, otherwise, it's like everything is perfect. Friend of mine isn't a classic track tho IMO.
I can't believe people hating on this album. Life after Death was a let-down, but still, it's a good album, u gotta listen to this and other commercial albums made by rap superstars, if it's a double album, even more...
Blueprint v.2 <<<<<< Life after Death
Overall yeah, he's a bit overrated, but that just happens to every rapper that brought a lot of attention. C'mon, would 50 Cent be still rated so high if he wasn't living in the hype?
THE TRUTH.
Bet all you want, I heard the album. I like it, it's a quality album. There are great tracks without a doubt. But when I say overrated, I mean that I don't like him as much as people talk about him. Every second hip hop fan will have Biggie or 2pac on their top 10 list. I just don't hold him, nor the album in that light.
Warcloud is just one MC that talks about paranormal shit. I agree he's doing it way too much, but I like the way the guy spits.
jew cock lovers have a hard time appreciating other people's opinion ...
jew lovers are great.
