if only I’d trust in “him”, then I would never have to worry
and trust I did . . .
for many years, until there was nothing left
the many lies that were told, became the secrets that I kept
behind closed doors I’ve wept . . .
my pillow cases soaked and wet . . .
drowning myself in sorrow because this life is so hard to accept
and equally, so unkind . . .
at times it felt as if I were losing my mind,
drying these weary eyes that seem to be nearly blind
searching for an unknown love that seems impossible to find
perhaps it shall be mines next lifetime . . .

I'm sorry Ballid, you didn't leave your name. Without doing so, it's impossible for me to know who the points came from. I've given up trying to guess ... lol ...

I've gotten quite a few rep points because of this thread, which really makes me feel good. There's nothing like the feeling of having people appreciate your artwork. Especially when you put heart into it (which I do because I love Poetry).

with the luminous glow of the Moon
and eyes so bright they make the Stars in Heaven swoon
I am Woman ...
bestowing balance, giving life to all things
my beauty, more exuberant than blooming flowers in spring
curved like an hourglass
normal measures, I've surpassed
fully composed of strength, and sugar coated with class
soothing like milk and honey, satisfaction guaranteed

the most graceful breed ...

Props to you Black W.I.S.D.OM, your verse shows a heartfelt and emotional appreciation of the power of women in this world...It is unfortunate that many "men" are unable to recognise this fact and instead belittle their queens...

To be honest, I wasn't feeling it. It's just a personality thing for me though. I really didn't enjoy the content at all. I think it was a good piece, it just fell on the wrong eyes in my case. Too positive for a negative noel like me. I can appreciate it to some degree, as it was a nicely worded piece, but just not for me.
