Yup, awesome, Joker has the slight edge as the better villain imo. Bane is like a acrobatic Tyson powerhouse, surprised about the ending.

I will be waiting for the DVD.
Can someone who has seen it answer me something.
The Dark Knight had a lot of parallels to the War On Terror and the trailer to TDKR had some implication that bane was speaking for Gotham's underclass or something.
So, my question is, is this right wing propaganda? The mighty bat fighting the working class who is rebelling against the 1%?
^Not at all...reviewers and marketing i guess are trying to create the parallel, but it's really peripheral to the overall story
i enjoyed it alot, despite having some problems with the plot at times (there's one unexplained thing that's huge and took me out of the movie, but the people i went with were saying i was being too critical and waived it off by saying "He's Batman"), but there's a lot of good stuff happening from a cinematic and acting perspective, and the story is ambitious and involving.
and if you've read any batman, you'll be able to anticipate some of the twists later in the movie, even if it involves merging bane's origin with another character's...'john blake' gets as much screentime as batman, and the payoff is kind of cheesy
Best film this year. One of the best trilogies of all-time also. This film will only become better and better when we reflect on how shit so many other films are.
I loved it a lot.
Fuckin epic is all I gotta say, when Batman & Bane brawl for the first time the shit that happens is unbelievalbe. Gotta see this movie again in IMAX.
The 1% thing is the medias creation, obvious this story was written well before any of that Occupy shit ever happened
Acting wise, Jokers performance cant be topped IMO, Heath owned it even in death. Bane was good to physically test Bruce, Ive never seen anyone yet that can go toes with him like that
it was an awesome movie, and nolan did an awesome job i liked the illusion to a "robin" but at the same time it was a great send off and when you were shocked by the twists and then twist at the end were great and i cannot wait to purchase it on dvd
i think this movie was heads better than avengers
Yeah pretty much a lot of people guessed right about John Blakes character
If this movie had a pussy, I'd f*** it!
I absolutely loved it. Speaking of which, I'm going to see it again tonight. Overall, I believe that Nolan and his team did an outstanding job. However, there are some things that I didn't like about the movie. There was no interaction with the people of Gotham like there was in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Also, the last fight b/w Batman and Bane should've been just that. Like in The Dark Knight when the Joker and Batman fight and then they have a talk afterwards. I felt that should've happened in Dark Knight Rises. Plus, Batman doesn't fly using his cape. Ok. WTF? The ending seemed a little rushed, in my opinion, but it was good (not as good as The Dark Knight's ending)
Is this movie better than The Dark Knight? Honestly, it's hard to say. I'll watch it again to make that determination. Oscar for the best movie of the year nomination? It had better be!
"Is bane's movement reminiscent of the worker uprisings during the industrial revolution?"
Hes basically another Ras al Ghul. Trying to destroy the power hold on Gotham @ give it back to its people
Interesting.Quote:
Ra's al Ghul is an international criminal mastermind whose ultimate goal is a world in perfect environmental balance. He believes that the best way to achieve this balance is to eliminate most of humanity. Ra's usually tries to assault the world's human populace with a biological weapon, such as a genetically-engineered virus.
Bane and his plan has been paralleled to the French Revolution, except no heads rolled
movie was good.
but i hated how banes voice was a lot louder then every one els's ...as in mix wise...they did this after the 1st test screening when every one complained that banes voice is hard to hear...
also how does bane know where to put explosives to get to batman's weapons
other then that
i enjoyed it ...tom hardy was a beast ...
but i say the avengers was better... not buy much....
Bane was one of the best movie villains of all time definitely for a superhero film. Better than Joker, which I thought was pretty well played but the character himself left me cold, not fearful.
Liked how every character in the film managed to have their own fairly important subplot.
Wasnt quite sure why "Miranda" felt like she had to take over her father's evil masterplan when she hated him anyway though.
spoiler ...dont read me
the thing that i didnt like the most was they built bane up so much only to find out it wasnt even him...and then he is just killed off like it was nothing hover <<
yeah Bane didn't seem so tough by the end. they made him out to be Godzilla in the trailers...and then that shit happens to him at the end. he even got his feelings hurt
Spoiler:
Batman's rage just overcame it, once he fucked up Banes mask which is what kept him from being in pain, it was over for him, his mask was like a morphine drip lol
SPOILERS
Exactly, that 1 lucky punch destroys his drip & he cant even focus very well on the fight due to the pain from that point on.
"Wasnt quite sure why "Miranda" felt like she had to take over her father's evil masterplan when she hated him anyway though"
She too believed in the LOS now? as a member later, regardless if he kicked out Bane later, she shared their visionary goal for Gotham and wanted to complete his work & have Bane at her side to do it with. Ras didnt accept Bane in LOS, she did no matter what though for obvious reasons.
The punch wasn't lucky. Batman knew where to strike him because he knew Bane's weakness. Batman came back stronger and the folded Bane.
See, Bane was going to kill Batman with the shotgun because why fight someone who knows your weakness?
I wasn't surprised by the plot twist, I happened to watch a marathon of "Batman The Animated Series" and they showed the episodes with the villains that appeared in all 3 movies, it clicked to me in the middle of the flick.... I think it's better than the last one. 5/5, I would give the last one a 5/5 and the first one a 4.5/5...and to those that want to know what did the animated series have to do with anything, Batman and Al guhl's daughter had a thing, she played him numerous times lol the pussy was good im guessing
"See, Bane was going to kill Batman with the shotgun because why fight someone who knows your weakness?"
what shotgun? All I saw was him tying a rope around his neck while Talia was talking to him. "You know I must kill you" before he gets blasted by a shotgun claiming Batman wouldnt live to see Gotham destroys & gets closer to him...not aim a gun at him
ya man gun was indeed there
Which was very cowardly of Bane to do because in his mind, Batman could've gotten up and defeated him again. That's why he tried to use the gun. As I stated before, why fight someone who knows your main weakness?
why didn't batman go for the mask in their first fight? he should've known the mask was his weakness
How did Bruce get back to the US and sneak into Gotham, with no money or resources? I can buy him doing it in 20-odd days, because he's the goddamn Batman, but it would've been nice to see or be told how he did it. That's pretty much my only problem with the movie.
I was going to say something but I feared that someone would've thrown a fit. When I was watching it, I was like how'd he get into Gotham just in time when the bomb goes off the next day? Plus, the city was sealed off! WTF?
I think that it was time and money. Nolan probably wanted to show more in the movie but there's only so much they can do. I figure that people can use their imagination, though.
Plus, I wonder how the Justice League movie is going to work out. They can't reboot Batman if they want to release it by 2014.
If DC can go with the more "Mature" approach with the other movies like they've done with this trilogy it would be dope, Avengers is my shit too, but when I watch the Marvel flicks I feel like it's a sunny day, the kids are running outside n shit, watching the batman movies made me feel like i was in the sewers and shit, movie was straight grimy, reminded me of the old wu cds lol
the reason this batman trilogy was so good is because it was written and directed by christopher nolan and his brother. the next batman is going to be like the '90s shit cuz Nolan ain't directing, so Hollywood is going to get a dumbass director to do it. you're not going to see another good batman movie for a while. Nolan is the reason it worked out so well.
anyway, why didn't this movie give Bane's backstory? I was waiting for an explanation about him, but they didn't mention anything, except he was the girl's protector in prison
How much you want them to fit into this movie?
he's the main villain (sort of), so he deserves a backstory. the opening scenes with him escaping the plane were cool, but it's like he comes out of nowhere
on another note, why was Bane crying at the end? whenever women speak, he gets emotional
*spoiler alert*
and then gets killed by one, which is a bitch
I agree, Bane's backstory is one of the most intriguing and deserved to be mentioned in more detail.
Either way, this film was very long and I guess there will be a few flaws etc but we must give credit to Nolan and the actors, they were amazing.
This was one of the most grimiest, darkest hero movies (trilogy) ever made and I am honoured to have been able to watch it. Can't wait for this to come out on DVD.
