She traveled back in time, three years before the formation of the X-Men, despite Mother Askani's warnings not to do so, and attempted to contact her father, Bolivar Trask. Rachel followed her and stopped her from revealing herself to her father, but not before Tanya could tamper with her father's creation, Master Mold, and upload a program called "The Twelve".
Years later, as Cyclops pondered his relationship with Madelyne Pryor in Alaska, he was attacked by Master Mold, who claimed Cyclops was one of the "strong" one of the Twelve and had to be killed. Master Mold was stopped, but not before revealing several other possible members of the Twelve, such as Charles Xavier, Apocalypse, Storm, Jean Grey and Franklin Richards among others.
Master Mold survived the encounter and later faced Power Pack in an attempt to kill Franklin Richards. As the youngsters fought the demented robot, he revealed the nature of the Twelve: "The dozen mutant humans who will one day rise up and lead all of mutantkind in war against homo sapiens in the twilight of earth." He was stopped, but not before revealing several other possible candidates, including Danielle Moonstar, Cannonball and Psylocke.
The subsequent mention of the Twelve came from Apocalypse himself, claiming that not only he was one of the "fabled Twelve" but so too were all five original X-Men, Charles Xavier, Storm, Cannonball and Cable.
As the new millennium approached, a series of events led to the return of Apocalypse. Cable was witness to said events-- the darkening of New York City, the arrival of the Harbinger of Apocalypse, and several other signs. Mother Askani's astral form revealed herself to Cable, implanting the knowledge of who the Twelve were. Sadly, he never had the opportunity to find them.

* Shatter[84] - His body is composed of a hard crystalline material that can regenerate lost body parts over time, and also can crystallize liquids upon contact. Depowered
* Trader[84] - Former stock broker who has a chameleon-like ability to camouflage into his surroundings. Killed taking a bullet meant for Electric Eve[87].

X-Men Unlimited Vol. 1
The purpose of this title was to run stories that fit between the main X-Men comics. The stories included all characters (heroes and villains) from the X-titles, and was more of a collection of short stories. Like an anthology title, these stories focus less on the main continuity and more on little side things that the X-Men characters go through, like Jubilee in a mall with a crush on a boy or Wolverine going through a particularly rough healing process.
The first series ran from 1993-2003.
This title allowed lesser known writers and artists to write and draw more distinctive X-men comics, as it usually had new writers and artists for each issue. The comics were also always self-contained stories; story arcs were always one issue or shorter in length. This was particularly unique during the late 1990's when most X-Men titles frequently had story arcs that were several issues long.

The X-Treme X-Men contained Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Bishop, Sage (Tessa), Thunderbird (Neal Shaara), Psylocke and Beast as original line up. Psylocke was killed and Beast departed the title in the early goings, and new recruits Lifeguard (Heather Cameron) and Slipstream (Davis Cameron) were eventually added. Later in the series, familiar X-Men characters Cannonball, Lila Cheney, Shadowcat, Magma and Sunspot made regular appearances, with only Cannonball officially joining the team. Evangeline Whedon (a mutant possessing dragon transmorphic abilities) also made numerous appearances.
The title also introduced the character of Red Lotus, who featured heavily in the Australian arc, and was included in issues of the invasion arc.
Storm, Bishop, Sage, and Cannonball would appear in Uncanny X-Men, along with X-23, Rachel Summers, Nightcrawler, Wolverine and a resurrected Psylocke.

After successfully repelling the invader, the Vision leaves Earth but en route is tricked and disabled by A.I.M. The Vision later escapes and manages to stop a Gah Lak Tus module that A.I.M intended to use for their own purposes. Ant Man later creates a robot based on the Vision called Vision 2. [26]

After defeating the humans the two teams meet, with Fury's team capturing the X-Men and then discovering the source of the broadcast - a sentient, self-repairing robot called Vision. Vision explains that it traveled to Earth 100 years ago, and when its ship malfunctioned it crashed in Tunguska and was later captured by the Soviets, who amputated portions of its body and grafted them onto Soviet Army volunteers to create experimental super-soldiers. Vision has repaired itself enough to communicate with the world, and warns Fury of an impending threat: the Eater of Worlds, called Gah Lak Tus. The X-Men subsequently escape and Fury's team takes the Vision back to S.H.I.E.L.D for further analysis.

Ultimate Secret
A secret S.H.I.E.L.D. installation in New Mexico investigating revolutionary methods of space travel is attacked by the alien Kree. This forces resident scientist Dr. Philip Lawson to change to his true identity of Captain Mahr Vehl and battle the attackers. Although able to successfully defend the installation, Mahr Vehl is rendered unconscious and is eventually questioned by Fury. Mahr Vehl explains he is a member of the Kree himself, and that they have been observing Earth to determine if humanity poses a threat to the Kree in the larger galaxy. Observing mankind's violent nature, Mahr Vehl reveals that the Kree have recently decided to confine humanity on Earth until the entity Gah Lak Tus can destroy them, so ending the potential threat. Realizing that other Kree will be coming and that the threat the Vision foretold is now very real, Fury summons the Fantastic Four and the Ultimates.
A Kree force attacks the installation soon after, but is stopped by a combined team of heroes. Another team of heroes - with Mahr Vehl's aid - storm the Kree ship while the aliens are on Earth. The commander, Yahn Rgg, activates the self-destruct mechanism, but not before Mahr Vehl hacks into the ship's database and downloads its contents into his memory banks. With the information gained from both Vision and the Kree, Fury contemplates how to deal with the coming threat of Gah Lak Tus.

Fury enlists the aid of Reed Richards and Professor Xavier once Silver Surfer arrives to "herald" the approach of Gah Lak Tus, who is discovered to be a swarm of thousands of sentient ships stretched 100,000 miles long and within only a week's journey from Earth.
The heroes Captain America, Falcon, Iron Man and Mahr Vehl have several battles with Gah Lak Tus' heralds, and allow Reed Richards, Charles Xavier and Jean Grey time to develop a plan. Xavier and Grey make psychic contact with Gah Lak Tus, which completely repulses the entity and distracts it. Richards then uses the Ultimate Nullifier, and teleports the latent energy of a Big Bang into the heart of the Gah Lak Tus swarm. With 20% of its mass destroyed by the blast, the entity retreats. Richards then programs Vision with plans for the weapon and sends it into space, in the hopes that other races will be able to benefit and fend off Gah Lak Tus.

In this story, the X-Men receive a seemingly alien distress signal and fly away with the Blackbird to track it down. Only Wolverine, Shadowcat and Iceman stay behind. Having stolen Cerebro, Rhona revealed that she was contracted by Advanced Idea Mechanics to steal Cerebro and turn it over to them. After being paid for her work, Rhona betrays and kills the A.I.M. operatives sent to retrieve Cerebro, since her true intention was to use Cerebro's technology to increase her intellect even further.
The X-Men trio raids the Baxter Building and fights a surprised and angry F4. Burchill then reveals herself as the true culprit and gloats how vastly Cerebro has enhanced her mind, allowing her to take control of peoples' minds and even machines. Mr. Fantastic states that Rhona's mind control abilities have increased frighteningly, and modifies the suits of both teams to provide makeshift psi protection.
The X-Men find out that the alien message was bogus, and that Rhona's psi barriers have increased drastically. The X-Men trio and the F4 reluctantly team up against the Mad Thinker. Rhona is able to find a way around Reed's modifications and take control of everyone except Mr. Fantastic and Wolverine, but Reed beats Rhona by reprogramming Cerebro so that instead of gaining ultimate knowledge, Rhona would gain ultimate empathy for others instead. When she tries to flee, Wolverine sabotages her plane, and it explodes. The X-Men and the F4 part ways amicably.

The X-Men were in a difficult enough situation as it is. Iceman had left the X-Men forced out by his worried parents after he sustains injuries in the fight against Proteus. Three X-Men, Wolverine, Cyclops and Kitty Pryde, were on a mission to the Savage Land.
The US government is irate over Magneto's reappearance and demanded explanations from Nick Fury. Fury and his Ultimates tracked down the Xavier Mansion, whose location was hitherto unknown, and found it empty. Nick Fury comes to the incorrect conclusion that the X-Men have joined forces with Magneto to fight mankind.
In preparing to battle the X-Men, Captain America reveals he knows more about Wolverine; they fought together in World War 2, when Logan went under the name James "Lucky Jim" Howlett. The X-Men's plane returns, with only Logan and Kitty on board. Wolverine claims Cyclops had died heroically. The truth, which Jean later learns, is that Wolverine had tried to kill Cyclops so as to be with Jean.
In the meanwhile, Charles Xavier meets with Magneto to negotiate a truce. The meeting was actually meant as a diversion in order to give Wolverine time to track down Magneto's location. Unbeknownst to the Professor, Magneto had anticipated Xavier's double-cross. While Wolverine tries to locate the Brotherhood, Magneto anonymously tips off the X-Men's whereabouts to the Ultimates. The Ultimates track down the X-Men and have an all-out fight.
The Ultimates nearly defeat the X-Men, but at the last moment Iceman suddenly soars in on a giant ice slide. He creates a gigantic icewall which literally crushes everything, including the devices disabling Xavier's telepathy. Free to use his powers, Xavier freezes every non-mutant mind in the area to buy time for his students. However, he is taken down by the Wasp, who is a mutant herself and thus passed over by the mind control. The X-Men flee, but Charles Xavier becomes a captive of Nick Fury.

With Spider-Man, the criminals attack the White House, where they are confronted by the Ultimates. The criminals are re-captured, Spider-Man's aunt is released from S.H.I.E.L.D. security, and Osborn is kept half-transformed in cryogenic storage.

Nakhi I don't know how I missed this thread for 3 months but I have a lot of respect for you for putting this together. There is some great stuff in here that I have missed over the years.
Any one on here have The Watchman graphic novel? I want to read that before the movie comes out.
