Rip gatti! Came as a huge shock.
Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of his death soon
^Supposedly his wife strangled him to death with her purse when he was passed out drunk. The brazilian police said they are "certain" of this, although his wife is still trying to fight it. This was left off the early reports, but he had a knife wound to the back of his head as well.
floyd said he wont fight pacquiao for 50/50
and Arum insists the fight only goes forth if it is 50/50
I think if the fight does happen Floyd comes to his senses and takes the split. I agree with some of Floyd's points, but assuming both win their next fights there's just too much money to be made to not make it happen. Floyd has to realize that Pacman has stolen some of his thunder for the past year+. If I'm Pacman I'll tell Floyd that he can get 53% if Floyd wins and 47% if he loses. The best man gets the higher $$ & the P4P title. Just an idea.
I hope money is not the reason this fight never happens that just makes me mad that boxing is like that
Bradley > Glaxxxy by UD
Khan > Kotelenik by UD
Diaz > Malignaggi UD
Marquez > Floyd SD (call me crazy)
^^LOL, you're not crazy. It can happen. Remember Jermain Taylor beat Bernard Hopkins, Kelly Pavlik beat Jermain Taylor, Bernard Hopkins beat Kelly Pavlik. It would be funny if Marquez beats Floyd & Cotto beats Pacman. Boxing can be funny in that way sometimes. Remember Tyson vs. Buster Douglas. A sure win for Tyson, and look what happened.
They showing the Gatti v. Ward trilogy on HBO for the next couple of days. A great series, especially the first fight. I still believe Gatti should of won all those fights.
You crazy? Ward one the first no doubt due to point deduction on a round he was winning and a knockdown, which would add up to 2 extra points. Plus Ward definitly won 2 other rounds, so that'd be the equivilant to winning 6 10-9 rounds, although Gatti won more rounds.
ward won the first
gatti dominated the second
gatti won the third
great trilogy, and great warriors.
and Floyd isnt young or at peak level anymore, he wasted his peak years on big money fights and "retirement". i think floyd will beat marquez, too strong at welter, but a fighter like mosley at his best can beat floyd. DLH's composed pressure nearly beat PBF, but mosley is MUCH more conditioned that DLH, so i think mosley can outpunch mayweather
You irish? Ward was not winning the 4th round in which Gatti got a point deduction for the low blow. Having an energy burst for 20 seconds doesn't win the round.
Round 1 10-9 Gatti
Round 2 10-9 Gatti
Round 3 10-9 Gatti
Round 4 9-9 Even
Round 5 10-9 Ward
Round 6 10-9 Gatti
Round 7 10-9 Gatti
Round 8 10-9 Ward
Round 9 10-8 Ward
Round 10 10-9 Gatti
Final Score: 95-93 Gatti.
I'm not complaining because Ward was worthy of winning and it made for a great trilogy, but Ward only won a MD by 1 pt and 2 pts. Plus, didn't one judge score the final round 10-8 for Ward, when all the other judges had it 10-9 for Gatti?
It's official! Cotto vs. Pacman. Let the hype begin. Any predictions? LOL. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=4341913
pacman wins decisively.
cotto just doesnt have many advantages over pacquiao, and manny can hit hard, and the past tells us that cotto cant take a punch very well.
pacquiaos workrate will also be too much for miguel
