what's next for Mosley?
I heard of a November fight date for these two, does anyone know if this is true??? and I hope nobody says that if cotto cant hang with Margorito then he wont hang with pac, because as far as im concerned Margorito could have very well had plaster in his gloves when he fought cotto as well as when they caught him with plaster against mosley...margo's hard hitting rep is bullshit cause he's a cheater....cotto can beat pac and if they do indeed fight it will be a good one
It's official, the catch weight is 145 I think. Pacman has the bigger split of $$. I agree with your points, I lost a lot of respect for Margacheato after the Mosley fight. The funny part is that Cotto's camp didn't really check his wraps before their fight according to Cotto's people. And IMO he cheated vs. Cotto as well. I agree with many of your points Steel. I'm going with Cotto in an upset.
Once the PBF/Marquez fight tanks on PPV buys Manny will have even more pull to get his 50%. I agree with old kainry's point about PBF's inability to sell a blockbuster fight off his own strength. Arum has said recently that Mosley would get the winner of Cotto/Pac, which would be an awesome fight IMO.
I think PBF is using the 50/50 thing to duck pacman
Vernon Forrest shot and killed in Atlanta after attempting to be carjacked. They shot him up with semi automatic weapons after he chased after them with a gun.
He was a very good fighter, never got the complete recognition he deserved for beating Mosley like he did.
It's sad, even worse was the fact his girlfriend's son was with him. He was scheduled to fight Aug. 1, too. Hopefully they catch the criminals that did this. RIP Vernon Forrest.
Rest in Peace
Rip
These deaths are starting to take their toll on me man...damn, RIP Vernon Forrest.
On a brighter note, I see Pacquiao knocking out Cotto anywhere in the last four rounds (9-12). Miguel is going to have his hands full trying to time Manny. Pacman is faster than any of Cotto's fastest opponents to date (Mosley, Judah, Malignaggi) and he's shown he can exchange punches with bigger guys as well. Given Cotto's last fight was a disputed split decision (I thought Clottey won) and Manny's last fight was second round knockout, Manny must be riding on a good amount of confidence, more so than Cotto. I haven't been impressed with him ever since the Margarito loss, he seems a lot more cautious, more than he needs to be, and he's not as destructive and brave as he once was either. I'm not saying he's shot, but he's a few steps behind of what he used to be.
We all know he's a sucker for uppercuts too, so Roach will be having Pacquiao throw those often. I don't see Miguel having so much advantages like people make it out to be, I mean, he may be stronger since he's fought at 140-147 his whole career while Manny has continously moved up, but they're practically the same size. Cotto is 5'7" with a 67" reach and Manny is 5′ 6½″ with a 67" reach as well. Where's the height and reach advantage??? Also, Miguel's chin isn't that great either...I'm not going to say it's suspect, but I will say it's light.
I don't want to NOT give Cotto a chance to win, but it's my opinion that he just doesn't bring anything to the table that would bother Pacquiao. Cotto's bodyshots & left jab<Pacquiao's straight left, right hook, in and out style, and soon-to-come uppercut.
RIP Vernon, wtf's going on?
