Tuck in your skirt
yeah I don't get the hate for Preacher's Daughter, the beat was still funky and sounded Wu. Kinda had that Old Man song vibe from Masta Killa ' s album, I especially liked the opening with the guitar and chick singing. Certainly more enjoyable than Ron O'NEAL and 40th Street/ We Will Fight.
The one complaint I have about the album is I wish RZA got like 5 members on tracks he seemed to stick with only 4 and if he didn't break up their verses so much with hooks/choruses. I have no problem with the Miracle hook just used too much....the darts just need to be back to back.....I think it'd make it a bit more cohesive. That's why I kind of like the We Will Fight joint because they spit fast darts and right after each other for the most part.
What's your point? Rae always said money was an issue this album. He also said it wasn't the only issue. He had creative differences with Rza too. Based on Rza's own comments, Rae didn't come to the table until both the money and creative aspects were worked out. So I don't understand what point you're making. You're complaining because he wanted the money he felt he deserved, and you're ignoring the fact that this album probably benefited because he stuck to his guns.
And the fact that you say you prefer the 90s albums over ABT also makes it silly that you're hating on Rae given that he and Ghost were the ones saying they wanted to make something more like the 90s albums.
Rae could have hopped on felt and mistaken identity and hold the heater....those are hot ass beats!
If Rae is so in love with making 90's music how come his own LP's aren't 90's music?
Exactly, he's not keeping the Wu alive with his boring ass LPs. He and Ghost seem to think by getting a bunch of no name producing a bunch of generic "soulful" boom bap beats is Wu-Tang alone. If they really wanted to maintain the sound they'd have their albums entirely produced by Bronze, 4th, Ringz etc.
There's no excuse because there were some great beats on here that they did not participate on which leads me to believe it wasn't a creative difference but more or less a money thing. I wish RZA just produced Crystal Meth .....Meth had so much energy on this album with RZA....so did Masta Killa
Word, or even an album with production from nothing but those guys. There's enough dope Wu fam producers to get that old sound but they don't get on it.
There's probably creative differences between them on Rae's projects but it doesn't look like the sense of Rae trying to bring back 90's Wu and RZA going in a different direction because Rae's solos don't reflect that.
they took it down..
