One point I would like to bring up is not the difference between 5%ers and orthodox muslims, but the differences between 5%ers beliefs and practices, particularly in Hip Hop.
From what I can tell, and I may be mistaken, alot of these "Muslim" rappers (wu tang, vinnie paz two examples that come to mind) don't seem to be overly muslim. Alot of these rappers preach Islamic ideology, 5% or otherwise, and then seem to spend the good part of their lives drunk, smoking weed etc.
Whether 5% or just muslim, are there any rappers who have actually given up such vices totally for Islam?
