yeah it sucked you cant cover over that but i dont let it take away from the brilliance of the artwork. eisner was supposed to be a "anti-racist" writer for his time. he has said in the past that he failed to execute that idea due to his "limitations as a writer" at the time.Quote:

so, when Beast when Dr. Nemesis revelaed that he was the "first mutant" born in 1906 that didnt make sense cuz there were mutants before that, i.e. Wolverine and i thought Namor...did i misread something here?

the story was horrible, wolverine/sabretooth are descended from a tribe of lupine mutants where every generation there's a conflict between a black wolf and a blonde wolf for supremacy, and the mysterious and elusive romulus is the mastermind...or some such bullshit. typical loeb trash, but the artwork by simone bianchi is beautiful, i picked up the black and white version of the graphic novel on the cheap and the artwork's fucking goregeous, especially the sequence where wolverine is in wakanda. it's worth checking out for the art alone imo
word this romulus shit is getting annoying to me. chipping away at the great ambiguity that once existed with wolverine and sabretooth

yeah this new ethos of making romulus responsible for everything defies all logic, wolverine having some mastermind lurking in every aspect of his past just makes things more convuluted guy into stories like wolvie joining the x-men to kill the professor is just lazy writing...claremont's original plan was to make sabretooth wolverine's father, which isn't much better. i preferred that they were just mutants who worked together in the past until sabes killed his girlfriend, and then they just hated each other.Quote:
