That's exactly why i'm keeping the 2 jobs i got. I wish my jobs paid more but unfortunately they don't. I'm lucky my parents are still around because if they weren't, i'd be homeless. I signed up for low income housing awhile ago and who knows how long that's gonna take for them to call me and let me know they got a vacant apartment for me. I don't have any job skills that pay good because i didn't further my education after high school. I'm afraid to go back to school and get some job training because of my learning disability. Plus school is too expensive and i don't wanna apply for a school loan because i don't wanna be bothered with having to pay back a loan. And grants are bullshit and phony to me so don't even try to talk to me about grants because i've already applied for several grants for personal needs like getting my own place and a better car and some furniture and i haven't heard back from the grant organizations. On the applications i filled out, it said it would take them 30-60 days to respond back to me to let me know if i was approved for a grant. All these grant websites wanna do is take your money and that's why i'm not falling victim to that shit anymore. I get emails all the time talking about the government is giving out free grant money and i ignore them because it's bullshit. I hate filling out job applications and i hate sitting around waiting on jobs to call me.
until they release the cure for aids, then yes, it needs to stay illegal.
but saying that,

i make money through various loop holes right now. primarily student aid and formerly student aid and selling food stamp purchases at a reduced price.
but my card ran out, so it's just financial aid, which is running out soon. I really hope i get this job and my tax returns are BOUNTIFUL.

On the grants thing, you gotta keep pressurising them. If you keep annoying them about it they do give in, trust me. Keep enquiring about your application, phone up, write letters, it does work eventually. There's no use in waiting around, they aren't gonna phone... they forget, they have a lot of applications, you have to keep buggin them.
You're right, even in the UK the job market is dire. I have a shitty part time job, raise my son and go to college. I've got a £5000 student loan for this year, I'll take out a smaller one next year though. I think everyone is pretty much in the same boat though. Everyone (except for the real rich people) seem to take student loans. It's annoying but I'll hopefully get an awesome job when I graduate (hopefully!) and be able to pay it back (eventually). You're lucky you've got your parents. I was homeless for a little while, around a month, it's not very fun. I'm in a pretty good financial position at the moment, it's all about managing the money you have, the reason I was in a bad place a while back is because I wasted my money on dumb shit I didn't need.
My brother suffers from dyslexia (not sure what your learning disabillity is) and he's in uni right now, he's doing pretty well for himself. I can't even imagine how hard it is, especially when the help out there is scarce. If you would like to persue further education there are people out there who can help though. In the UK we have free programmes to help adults brush up on reading, writing and math skills which I think is a great idea. People don't realise how hard it is out there for people with problems like this and there needs to be more help and the stigma needs to go away.
If you wanted to open your opportunities there are local colleges (like community colleges) where you can take cheap part time or night classes, I know many people who later on in life did this and have graduated from uni and now have great jobs.
It's hard out there, but you're doin pretty damn well to have 2 jobs. Just keep your head up. *D

Sarah UK thanks for the advice. I haven't been diagnosed for a learning disability yet but i'm gonna see several psychiatrists so i can get diagnosed. Last psychiatrist i saw suggested i should take medication but i didn't want to because medication isn't gonna help me think better so i can get a good job. As far as school, i'm afraid to go back to school because i wasn't a good student in middle school and high school and school is boring to me. I hated doing homework and taking tests when i was in school. I know school would help me get a better job but i'm gonna pass on it. Plus like i said, school is too expensive and i don't wanna apply for a loan. The advice you gave me about the government grants, thanks but i'm not applying for anymore grants. I've already mailed about 6-7 grant applications and i haven't heard from anybody so i'm done with that. I tell people on here that i have a learning disability and that's what is preventing me from getting a good job but i get laughed at but i ignore people. A learning disability is some real shit and it can cause a person to be depressed and suicidal.
