Who came first? The God or the Universe?
Oh shit CL2, I didn't know an original kick drum came from an original source that you provided, that's a desperate wannabe link.
Remedy - Never again
@3:36
::edit:: and @0:00 too ..
^ I think it's well-known by Wu-Fans :)
As for Gönül Yazar's song, my first thought was Dom Pachino's "The Ceremony" track
Moongod Allah - Snake Vs. Crane (0:00)
Yma Sumac - Bo Mambo (0:00)
What are the chances of finding any of the remaining unknown samples from the classical era? I have been checking this thread regularly for the past 8 years or so, and its been a while since anything really big surfaced.
Perhaps the last time was ice cream, and thats at least 4 years ago. I suspect that people actually stopped digging. Either that, or that the new generation on here are too young to know how to get their fingers dusty.
I got all the samples I needed to get. Even found the lost sample for The Sun a few years ago. Sort of burnt out with rap since I am older now so maybe people are burnt out with the lack of sampling that is going on now. No need to look for samples to songs that you don't listen to no more.
I'm young, but I'm still diggin'. Most of my finds as a digger can be seen on WhoSampled. To keep this topic alive, I'm givin' you the sample of U-God's "Dat's Gangsta".
U-God -- Dat's Gangsta (0:03)
Jerry Butler -- One Night Affair (0:11 and 0:14)
It stops when the sample for KNOWLEDGE GOD is found !
what about brooklyn zoo?
yeah and that one!
Wasn't Knowledge God played?
I've always wanted to know what sample was used in "Method Man" song, but I think it might be hard to find 'cus RZA might've taken the piano and chopped it from whatever
Cilva, you have earlier claimed to be sitting on the cold world sample, which you never shared, unless its the known part (Plastic People- Frank Zappa).
Knowledge God is on my list too, together with M.G.M and Glaciers of Ice.
For a long time, tragedy has been a holy grail of mine. Many have suggested Roger Webb's Assassination, which it could be, but im not really convinced.
Glaciers... that's my Holy Grail.
Glaciers is same sample as "As It Was Written". Still unknown though, very obscure.
Cokd World is from the 1956 Ten Commandments soundtrack. Forgot which song though
By the way, here's the Cold World sample:
Elmer Bernstein
'Love and Ambition'
The Ten Commandments OST (1956)

What about
-the beat switch on Child's Play?
-Unspoken Word?
-It Must Be Bobby( this is especially frustrating since I have a file that contains that sample but it's not the whole song and the song's name is unknown)?
-Sunshower?
I hope I do, I'll check when I get home. The name of the file was something stupid, like "cat" something.
That'd be great :) thanks
Listen to the segment at 2:22 in the song "What Is This Thing Called Love" by Leo Reisman.

You will hear something which very much resembles the Rainy Dayz string.
I haven't been able to find a version of this song, in which the string and the other instruments appear in separate channels. I don't think this is the actual sample, however, it could very well be this song in another version, sung by some other artist. Since this song is one of those songs that has been covered by only 100 million artists, a lot of patience is required in order to find the right one, given that this is the actual sample.
Just thought this was worth sharing.
Damn !!! You might be right man! It's definitely not the song which sample was taken from, but RZA might've used the song as a example and played it
Might be the sound, but the melody was played by Blue Raspberry on the piano. That I'm pretty sure of.
the string sound was sampled yes, but then the melody using that string was played on the keyboard
I found the Must Be Bobby sample.
Like I said I don't know what song it is, or who sings it. The file is bad quality and recorded from vinyl. It's only about 25 seconds but contains almost everything sampled for the beat.

got this from whosampled for the "Must Be Bobby" sample
I saw The Silence of the Lambs a few days ago and i heard this.

I took the liberty of uploading it on Mediafire, because links on SendSpace often get removed:
