Just finished watching the pilot, well executed plot right there. I am not all too familiar with the Flash (same goes for the DC Universe in general except for Batman) so maybe this helped - everything was a surprise, except for what I had learned by watching 'Arrow'.
Grant Gustin is believable as both Barry Allen and the Flash. Tom Cavanagh is intriguing as Dr Harrison Wells.
The way the show depicts superspeed could have been cheesy (was skeptical about this going in) but it's okay, if not overly spectacular.
I think I'm going to enjoy this show. Anyone else watching this?
About to watch the other episodes released so far.
Might also watch the 1990 pilot afterwards, not the series probably as I've read it's pretty standard stand alone episodes which follow the same pattern. (Although I've heard the two-part finale starring Mark Harmon as the bad guy is pretty good.)
Huh, just saw Victor Zsasz, well actually Anthony Carrigan (actor's name), as Kyle Nimbus / The Mist in the Flash EP3 'Things you can't outrun'. That was confusing for a minute there.

I remember the last Flash tv show didn't last that long.
One season only. The guy who plays the Flash's father in the new series played the Flash in the old series.
Some great character moments on this show, looking forward to EP07 called 'Power Outage', which by the looks of it will be very entertaining.

*****SPOILER AHEAD*****
looking forward to how the time travel story line might develop
it's good that the writers aren't sticking to the Flashpoint storyline to closely, this way hardcore fans can still be surprised as well
Man, so many good shows out right now. Looking forward to start this one.
20 pics from the next episode 'Out of Time' which will air in two days

The Flash: Iris confronts Barry with the truth
INTERVIEW
At the end of last week’s episode of The Flash, Iris (Candice Patton) finally discover that Barry (Grant Gustin) is the scarlet speedster… again. But this time, the day won’t be erased and Iris will get to confront her BFF about his alter ego. However, the duo will have bigger issues to tackle after the Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) kidnapped Eddie (Rick Cosnett). Will Team Flash be able to save him? EW caught up with Patton to get scoop on the final episodes of the first season:
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Iris finally realizes that Barry is The Flash. How does she feel about this revelation?
CANDICE PATTON: Well, Candice feels amazing that it’s finally out. [Laughs] Iris is shocked. It’s a huge revelation that her best friend has been keeping such a huge secret from her for so long. It comes out of nowhere that he’s The Flash, and she’s been meeting with him, and he’s been keeping this secret for a very, very long time.
What does the confrontation look like between Iris and Barry?
The thing about Iris is she will give Barry the opportunity to come clean. For the first time, we’re going to see a side of Iris that we’ve never seen—seeing her angry and unleashing her emotions toward Barry, her father and everyone who has been keeping this huge secret from her. It’s a new side to Iris. She’s finally getting a chance to say, “This is not cool and I’m really hurt and angry.” There’s a lot of hurt and anger in Iris in episode 121.
Even with all that anger, does she realize all the things that Barry’s been capable of doing? Is he a little bit off the hook for saving her and the city so many times?
No, because Iris could’ve helped and been a part of that. It’s still a matter of a person not trusting you enough to tell you the truth, and trying to keep you safe rather than believing that you could help keep your own self safe. Obviously she’s enamored with The Flash. She’s probably been his No. 1 fan since Day 1. It’s hard to come to terms with the fact that this person she’s been following for so long has been right underneath her.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg previously told me that Iris would not get mad at Eddie over him not being honest with her about The Flash. Is that only because he’s been kidnapped by the Reverse Flash?
Well, obviously there’s a lot going on. She finds out that Barry is The Flash, that he’s been keeping this secret, that Joe’s been keeping this secret, and then on top of that, Eddie has gone missing. There’s a huge sense of worry about the safety of her boyfriend, who she loves so much. It’s not that she’s not angry with Eddie, it’s really her father and Barry’s responsibility to tell her the truth, especially about something like this. In a way, Eddie gets off the hook, but I don’t think he’s completely off the hook.
It seems like Iris has had a bit of a crush on The Flash, so how does finding out the truth affect her relationship with Eddie?
The main priority for Iris, and for the entire team, is to keep Eddie safe, find him and save him from Reverse Flash. The issue of Iris having feelings toward The Flash, and also subsequently feelings toward Barry, will continue to be dealt with. That can never just go away. That will be explored in later episodes, for sure.
How will Iris feel when she finds out about the connection between Eddie and Eobard?
She’s extremely shocked that it’s a possibility and what that means for Eddie in her life. Because they could be possibly related, does that mean there’s something evil in him as well?
How involved does she get with the S.T.A.R. Labs team now that she knows about Barry?
She immediately gets involved. Now that she’s allowed access into S.T.A.R. Labs and she knows who The Flash is, she immediately uses her skills to help the team. That’s all Iris has ever wanted to do, to be a part of helping her city. Now that she knows who The Flash is and that she can help him, she’s more than willing to use whatever resources she has to be a part of the team. That’s something I’m really excited about, to see Iris stepping into using her skills as a reporter to help this team that’s already existed for so long.
Is there a conflict of interest for Iris to report on The Flash moving forward?
We have not gotten to that, but that’s a very interesting point to make. I guess it’s a conflict of interest for her to know The Flash and work with The Flash and then to be reporting on him. We’ll probably get to that later. But it’s probably better because she’s going to know him better than anyone. She’s probably the best person to report about The Flash. At the end of the day, Iris is a morally sound person and I don’t think she’d let that get in the way of being a great reporter.
She wouldn’t feel a journalistic duty to tell the world who The Flash is?
Absolutely not, because she knows that The Flash’s secret identity is what’s helping save the city and save people from bad guys. She’s going to do whatever it takes to protect that source, so to speak.
Will we see her have another interaction with the Reverse Flash?
I wouldn’t say a direct interaction with the Reverse Flash. I’ll just leave it at that.
What can you tease about the season finale?
It’s epic. [There are] a lot of familiar faces. It’s going to be epic, that’s all I really can say. I know that’s not much, but we would never leave the season without it being bigger than [episode] 15, bigger than [episode] 20. It’s going to be bigger than both of those.
With so many bad guys on the loose, should we be worried about any of our heroes?
Yeah. Our bad guys this season are pretty big bad guys. There’s a lot of reason to be concerned for everyone at S.T.A.R. Labs, Iris West, Joe, Barry. They make it very difficult to keep everyone safe.
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
