I think it's a big difference. I'd say about all the famous producers I know use samples. I can't even think of classic producer that doesn't rely on samples.
whats the big difference? and i'll name one who has done tracks with orignal samples, the RZA. how many wu-tang cds do you even own?

I prefer sample based production than that new age synthesized shit, some of it is ok but I don't feel 90% of it.
Almost all Timbaland, try Put You on the Game by The Game. Alot of newer Dr. Dre. Try most of the Chronic 2001 (Forgot About Dre, Still DRE, etc.)

Da Mystery of Chessboxin' is made without samples.
