to me i think thats there 3rd best shit sence wutang forever
third best since wtf? there's only been 3 group albums since wtf, lol...
anyways, it was decent. Got tired of it after a month-two, can't say I've listened to it much since then. Better than Iron Flag, but way worse than anything before.
the w is ok iron flag is ok i think it was good work i dont why they dont play tracks from it it wasnt really bad i been listing to wu sence 93
most people on the board did, but it was more split than i thought it would be. still a raw ass record to me, i love it.
its like The W's evil little brother in terms of sound, had a nice blend of uptempo bangers and laid back (but still grimey) tracks. Sunlight and Starter are the only 2 tracks i dont play that much, with Rushing Elephants/Weak Spot and Windmill being my favs
im sorry kidwukungfu but your a fawkin dummy
the w has tracks that are worthy of even being featured on a 'greatest hits album'
and iron flag, well i'll make a thread about that right now, but yo
you mad ghey kid 8 Diagrams is the worst wu cd, not saying that its exactly 'bad' but just a little worse than iron flag. go rebel about something that people can maybe actually understand in one way or another..
I like it too, better than the W
i really liked it too bump it all the time. digi snax too but thats a different story, yes 8 diagrams is great
1.Forever
2.36 Chambers
3.The W
4.8 Diagrams
5.Iron Flag
i actually think this is one record where internet talk and social networking affected it negatively
people got too tangled up in the in-group politics and extra BS, instead of worrying about the music. if this record comes out in a different era, i think it gets a slightly different reception.
it was much more complete and interesting than Iron Flag, which i still think was a solid record, but 8D smashes on it imo
It wasn't quite what I was expecting when I first heard, but over time it grew on me. My main complaints about the album are that
1. The beat to Unpredictable was changed for the worse. I preferred the original Thug World version and would've loved to hear that version, with RZA's original verse, Raekwon and U-God.
2. Some of the performances sounded uninspired. Album could've done with more energetic verses.
^^
to add a bit more than the usual unpredictable beat switch and sleepy performances
get em outcha way pa?
this is the WU-TANG CLAN goddamnit thank raekwon for that shit for real
and he cried about having little say, im almost glad
rushing elephants is produced pathetically, i mean one of the crap resident producers here can do something with the sample ALOT more creative than looping it twenty times. it doesnt even sound that great i wonder why it was saved much less chosen for this highly anticipated album..
the faggot singing on riches...
weak spot is really kinda boring if you really think about it, why didnt they have anything better?
coulda done without the last two tracks too tar pit and 16th chamber (should really have been on a j-love or mathematics mixtape i mean seriously its good but has no place on a studio album)
What you don't seem to understand about the album is it features minimalist percussion and laid back lyrics. This was intentional.
Yeah at first Get Em Out Ya Way Pa didn't impress me, but it grew on me over time.
Rushing Elephants had a cool beat IMO, one of the album's more 'hyped' tracks.
The singing on Stick Me 4 My Riches added to the track, dude did his thing.
Oh yeah, RZA toned down the violins on the track from the 8D Mixtape version. The beat bumps though.
The last 2 tracks were European Bonus Tracks. The Tar Pit beat was wasted IMO, Streetlife and Cappa did nothing for the track with their mediocre verses. They should've had other Wu Members on it instead.
