What games do you play with your voice Deck ???

I dont get it for the last years... This is the main undiscovered Wu-Tang secret for me! Its like I cant even sleep out of this shit. Deck always comes different with his voice on every single release! His voice on Manifesto, OB4CL II and Shaolin vs Wu-Tang (for example) is so different and I'm not talking about his terrible live perfmomance...
This Chop Chop Ninja verse just got me totaly insane, Deck didnt even sound so clear like this on his early days in Wu-Tang! WTF is it? Unreleased track from 90's or studio technically transformed voice? I'm not hating on general, but I feel like I'm get tricked by Deck...

What yall think ?

Im assuming he just gets sick a lot. That was his excuse for sounding the way he does on Stick Me For My Riches. He had another 'sore throat' on 9 Milli Brothers as well. Sometimes he sounds like the old Deck especially on Black Mozart, The Champion & Starter. But if your a producer you need to realize vocals DO matter. The right pitch, EQ levels, etc. Besides Kiss The Ring, he sounded similar on all his CL2 appearances. I hope The Rebellion fixes these issues

its just how his vocals have been mixed..

also if you take other things into consideration..
i.e. where they were recorded etc. this effects how they will sound when cleaning up..

it aint even that bad on chop chop ninja.....he sounded like butt cheeks on 9 milli and stick me 4 my riches.....

Its not that his vocals are mixed differently. Deck usually just has a hoarse throat (9 mili bro's, stick me for my riches). His voice is extremely sensitive, especially when touring. secure mixing can sometimes be of help here, but only to correct minimal errors (listen carefully to decks most well known verse on thriumph, even there you can hear his voice was slightly hoarse, but the mixing fixed it.)

On the other hand Deck, just like most rappers do, occassionaly plays around with his voice (check for example the final seconds of 'what they want', where he cleary puts up a 50 cent voice)

The same is the case with chop chop ninja, its not a not mixing or voice problem thing, he just deliberately keeps his voice a lil bit small without using his vocal chords too much. It actually works, although i perfer the 'The Champion' deck above all...

I don't know what the excuse is here, but on Manifesto it was clearly intentional.

During Deck's part of the hook on "Stick Me for My Riches" it is his normal voice, but on his verse it is hoarse.

The deal is that his NORMAL voice nowdays (and for the last years too) is always HOARSE, so the question is: how come he sounds so sharp and clear on the tracks if its not vocal mixing according to you dudes ?

It has to be the mixing, just like RZA's EQ levels for Ghostfaces voice is the only way to turn down the high pitch whiney-ness. Its why he sounds so different on IRONMAN. Other producers rarely know how to adjust his voice so thats why he sounds the way he does.

Jin no offense but you obviously have no clue, mixing doesnt have anything to do with deck's voice on tracks. Sometimes he's hoarse, sometimes he's not. deck's attempt to sound younger on chop chop ninja is not a mixing thing but an intentional experiment of Deck.

RZA already said in the Wu manual that he put an effect on all the clans voices, so it is do with mixing.

Yeah, their voices are mixed when they collab with RZA. I wonder if RZA was behind-the-scenes on some solo albums and did vocal mixing, if the clan still sound the same from '92...
