Seinfeld
i think that goes without saying
^where do you leave shows like The wayans brothers, the fresh prince etc
oh ya Frsh Prince is a classic too
lol see there so many
i dont know if guys remeber new york undercover
that wasnt a sitcom. I'd say Seinfeld too
home improvement & married with children were funny ass shows.
^ My fav without saying, I still watch it whenveer its on.
Useless fact: After the series finale broadcast on May 14, 2007, The King of Queens became the last American live action sitcom that premiered in the 1990s to end its run
married with children had the most balls. they didn't hold back anything
Martin
^ I've heard about that but never peeped it. Think I might check it sometime though!
The Wayans Bros. was my shit.
Marlon used to kill me when he'd go off-script.
That's what was great about shows like Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Martin, The Jamie Foxx Show and The Wayans Bros., those random improved bits that are so ridiculous that they make it to air.
i'd add larry sanders show, alan partridge to the list.
seinfeld is definitive though, timeless genius. and i think it tapped into a destructive, selfish and fundamentally narcissistic part of peoples psyches that hadn't been explored before.
people underestimate comedy as throwaway sometimes, but there are certain comedies that are more revealing and truthful than other forms of fiction. the reason why some comedies are timeless and others are corny is because some tap into real frustration, pain, and love in peoples hearts. larry david didn't go into writing brainwashed by scriptwriting courses, he pulled from real life. any great comedian in the last 20 years has drawn from that MO.
btw i'm thinking the next great sitcom will be the 'thick of it' (another classic show) spin off/sequel 'veep' with julia louis dreyfuss.
Home Improvement
Seinfeld
in no particular order
Personally-
Roseanne
Friends
Simpsons
Fresh Prince
Dinosaurs
Sister Sister
Home Improvement
There was so fucking many the 90s was the era of the sitcoms. This was back when people actually watched TV though.
the simpsons is still ill there was that other show with them chicks from sister sister and cuba gooding jr brother forget the name
Simpsons' been unwatchable for me for the last 10 years.
^ yea no doubt, can't stand Simpsons anymore......even Family Guy
Now Futurama, King of the Hill, American Dad I can get down with, but the best of all is South Park hands down
You're thinking of Smart Guy, the show with Tia & Tamera's brother, Taj.
Omar Gooding and the God Jason Weaver was principle cast members as well.
Essence Atkins was the older sister on the show, she gave off a Mowery twins vibe in apperence and acting style, most likely why she was cast with Taj.
Marques Houston (Batman from Immature) was cast alongside Tia & Tamera on Sister Sister early on.
Fresh Prince and Diffferent World are classics, so many jewels and great messages in them. Roc was good too as well as the short lived South Central which was too real for tv. How many of yall remember True Colors?
You're right, A Different World and Roc were both incredible shows.
Roc especially was an underrated series, I gotta go track that down on DVD.
the best Nickelodeon show ever

Haha, they do look absolutely ridiculous discussing 90's sitcoms...
As a kid i wouldve said boy meets world or seinfeld
Wayans Bros. and Coach
Married With Children
Frasier.
^ Classic show. They're actually bringing Frasier back for a new show, I think with most of the old cast back.
I don't know what the new show will be like, but I hope Frasier is now a cyborg with rocket launchers for arms fighting cybercrime in a dystopian future with Niles as his chihuahua sidekick. Maris is the villain somehow.
I can see Maris as the villain haha good call
REVEALED AT LAST
That would be awesome. Frasier jokes still hit in 2021.
Moesha
^ Ha, don't forget Clarissa Explains It All.
We had a white girl at school called Moesha. Real trailer trash. She was named after the show. She was expelled two days before the end of a school year for making a speech in class about camel toes and what teachers supposedly had them
She knew she was gonna flunk and went out with a bang.
All in all a year with her was vastly more eventful than the sitcom.
Mang that was one 15 year old that could really get on your nerves
She's probably doing meth now. Maybe she'd do a commercial for it
