The W
i think its underrated...
shaolin finger jab, chambermusik, careful, hollow bones, let my niggas live are CLASSIC wu material.. RZA on some gritty 94 steez..
and redbull, one blood, conditioner, jump off, cant go to sleep, do you really, jah world were all
RZA shines on the boards but not enough verses by him (again)
the grimy quality of the beats, the kung fu samples,
only joints i wasnt really feeling were gravelpit
and the monument coulda been better
i cant go to sleep put a tear in my eye man..reminded me of all that i got is you

Re: what do yall think of The W
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
and you know,,..that interlude after do you really was sooo sick...i was pissed when it cut off..that beat was amazing
then wheni heard the track with the same beat on iron flag i was goin crazy
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
that album is almost classic to me
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
i like it...especialy,,,, click click and gravel pit
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
Underated. Not their best, but most def underated.
Careful (click, click) is a GREAT track.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W

-
Re: what do yall think of The W
I didn't like it that much, it was better then Iron Flag tho.....
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
it had the unfortunate task of living up to forever which IMO is the greatest hiphop group album ever.

isn't shaolin finger jab just the intro?
and gravel pit was one of the best in that album
careful (click, click) would have been better if everyone flowed like deck did on that track
also hollow bones was amazing
redbull was also great
I can't go to sleep was awful i want to hear rza and ghostface rap not cry....and probably the worst choice for a single...
conditioner was awful....
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
lyrically iron flag was way better than the w, but rza was alot more ambitious on the beats on the W (rza didn't even produce most of Iron flag), but unfortunately i don't think the beats in the W really all lived up to that ambition.......a lot of them seemed they were just thrown together... many of them were still really good tho like redbull and chamber music
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
The W is great just for I Can't Go To Sleep, that's classic Wu right there.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
I just got it a little while ago and i think its fucking tight.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
Only thing that I'm not too thrilled about on this joint, is the featurings.. except for them tracks with Nas & Snoop.. I actually think ODB and Snoop came out nice 2gether!
"MC conditioneeer, you can NEVER say this boy's an amatureee!!"|)
PEACE

this is the very thing that turned a lot of people away from this album. i thought other than snoop the guests did a ood job but i dont think it was the best decision to have any guests.

Thank you!! Man I thought I was the only one thinking like that about that song. I never even listened to it fully, I always skip it. I think that has to be the worst wu-track ever made on a wu album as a group.
Anyways I enjoyed the album after listening to it a few times, its mad underrated IMO. But "Let My Niggas Live" deffinetely aint a classic yo, The nicest tracks are Chambermusik, Carefull (Click Click), Redbull, Hollow Bones, Protect Ya Neck (The Jump Off) The Monument and Gravel Pit IMO. I liked Iron Flag better than The W too.

Re: what do yall think of The W
i love let my niggas live. classic wu beat.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
my second favourite wu tang clan album
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
a good album, but i think it's the worst out of the 4 wu albums. it tried to bring back an old sound but what i don't like is that every track sound's different. it's not the same sound on the whole album like iron flag or forever or 36. there is a too great differencse between the tracks in my opinion. but is a good album
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
It's a good album , not my favorite but it's almost a classic
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
Classic Next To Forever And 36 Iron Was Trash

what?
exactly how does every track on the W sound different?

Re: what do yall think of The W
yo that album was a classik to the deepest core. the RZA production made me buss a nut the first time i finshed the whole album 'listening'. One blood - what a gem. rza's whole focus on a harder drum beat just got my shit jumping. that gza freestyle percusion; careful percusion; percusion and the black keyz on the Monument; redbull>.... the whole album is a gem. the god's werent lying when they said the 2000 album will just strike with a comet...the drums is the impact-respekt
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
Its a classic album to me, my third favorite wu album, cause 36 and forever are just to hard to beat, got some real real nice songs on it!
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
very decent album, but im biased, i rarely dont like a wutang joint, shit just turns me on, protect ya neck, is probably one of my favourite rap tunes of all time, shit gets me amped as a mother fucker.
one

you're probably right.. and yeah Snoop didn't excactly came with the sharpest darts or anything like that, but his flow was nice over the beat. I didn't felt the tracks with Redman & Junior Reid, I don't like Redmans voice and Junior Reid just sounds anoying as fuck!
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
i get in moods where i wanna say the W is the best wu album sometimes.....forever is the best.....but the W was their most innovative album, switched up their whole style. careful, hollow bones, and i cant go to sleep is top 25 wu songs to me....god damn imagine tryin to actually do a top 25 wu song list, too hard
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
oh my god i forgot about 'let my niggas live'....so fuckin hot
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
I think on that album Meth got his classical flow from 36 chambers and Tical back, but then it wenat away again.
Just check his verses on The Jump Off and Gravel Pit.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
Most of the tracks on the W are brilliant or at least pretty good.
But Conditioner, Protect Ya Neck (the jump off), Do you really, the Monument and Gravel Pit are all pretty average to me. I don't like the bonus track after Jah World either.
But at the end of the day, this cd has 8 great tracks on it.
Also I gotta say that rza's verse on careful isn't great, but otherwise it's a pretty nice song.

Re: what do yall think of The W
The reason why some people do not like The W is because it got released after all their classics. In an interview RZA said he had a plan until 1997 and after they released Wu-Tang Forever he didn't have one anymore. Back to topic again. Wu-Tang released 2 classics with 36Chambers and Wu-Tang Forever, and the anticipation was at its highest before The W dropped. Everyone was expecting a classic, but that didn't happen. Personally The W is a 4 mic album, with classic songs like Hollow Bones, Protect Ya Neck...etc
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
Production wise this album was the best.
Definite classics- Chamber Music, Careful, One Blood under the W(this track is bumpin)
Good Hits-The Jump Off, Do you Really, Gravel Pit
Could've done without Conditioner and I Can't Sleep. These are probably the two worst WU songs I've EVER heard.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
this album was the greatest sounding album ever
the way the beats kept on changing - even in the same track (protect ya neck, monument, etc)
lyrics off the hook
the album was all over the place
it was like a universal tour
wu at their absolute best
gritty dirty sophisticated intelligent enlightening
this album was huge
it belongs in a fine art museum or something
PEACE
i have never heard anything like this album before or since
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
IMO the W has the best production of the 4.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
This was def my 3rd fav of the big 4 Wu LPs. It was nice and short. I think it was a real good follow up to Wu Forever and slept on. I listen to it all the time.
-
Re: what do yall think of The W
dont play it much anymore but i still love it
