It's too close to call. I'm hoping that they set the film in the early '90s so Joker (2019) can be tied in. No need to reboot Joker.
I am still upset at Ben Affleck for quiting the role of Bats. He had fresh ideas and Warner Brothers bullshitted him so much. I swear, WB are true bullshitters.

Second of all, the car looks cool. But let's be honest. They just took a '69 muscle car and pasted a body kit on it. Not very original. Might as well just have Batman drive a chevelle.
Third of all, Jeffrey Wright has sucked in everything since Westworld. Tired of seeing that dickhead in movies.
This looks wack. It would take incredible writing and cinematography to save this.
The director is Matt Reeves. I'm not seeing anything on his resume that makes me feel any better about this film.
They do have some experienced, good writers like Bill Finger.
I still say this flops. Pattinson is too feminine to even play Robin let alone Batman. This isn't teen-bop twilight teenage vampires. Batman is supposed to be tough enough to take on the baddest mutant criminals, not be a boy with a glass jaw who looks prettier than your girlfriend.

I'm going to try to see it this weekend, so far (from what's trickling out) this is the batman movie I've been wanting for decades. I have always said there has never been a good batman and they always compensate by making the villian the star. An actually good batman that isn't just a clunky dude that can move punching people would be nuts.
That’s because the rogue’s gallery is the most important element of Batman who would be boring as fuck if the villains weren’t the main focus and weird/interesting.
Batman as a character is super lame and is only slightly less lame than super man because he doesn’t have absurd “powers” but there’s nothing really interesting about Batman the character besides the psychological trauma of his childhood that he never got treated.
Given Pattinson's track record, I would have thought initially he'd rather play the villain.
I'm guessing there was a serious payday here.
Great film! I love it from the beginning to end. I will warn you that this movie is 2hr 57mins long. With that being said, be prepared to be wowed. The movie starts off slow but gradually speeds up. The one thing that I didn't like was how Bats/Bruce moved slow when he wasn't in a fight. Too theatrical in my opinion. Other than that, you'll enjoy it.
This film is not an origin story.

Great use of 'Something in the way'. I read it's topping Spotify.
Great start and both appropriately dark and entertaining in the 'looking for clues' kind of way but ultimately maybe 20 minutes or so too long. I'm not talking about the grand finale itself, I just means the whole thing feels longish.
Still one of the best Bat movies I've seen and very good use of music including the Nirvana motif.
I did not find Pattinson that convincing in the Bruce Wayne scenes with emotional content tbh.
The movie was incredible , pat ribbingson did well as year 2 batman and mirrored him to a tee as the comic book character should be , unsure , angry, still trying to figure out what his place in Gotham is . The whole detective noir style approach to the movie was refreshing , this is what we batmanites want , finally a director who isn’t afraid to go into batmans vast bag of content and do something different with the character . The cinematography was just insane . I think my fav shots was him in the bat cave with the bat mobile just parked behind him, like the menacing vehicle it is . So dope but here’s what my fav part of this movie is..
for the first time BATMAN DID NOT WIN!!
he ultimately got entangled in a mindfuck twisted game against someone just as intelligent as he is and realized the whole time he wasn’t helping solve cases , he was part of plan by riddler .such a great nod to many of the comic book stories where he infact sometimes doesn’t end up with a happily ever after story .
matt reeves batman universe is a breath of fresh air . Look forward to what’s next .
