they bumped La The Darkman's Heist Of The Century? I would have.
they bumped La The Darkman's Heist Of The Century? I would have.
LOL Word! Yo if that gem was the A-side, how about this one as the B-side Plan B ;) PEACE

That would be dope also, ha ha..
Too much time on your hands, I see, to think about shit like that.
On the way to the museum they were bumping Nas "Thief's Theme" and Capone N Noreaga "Stick You"
Considering it took approximately 7 mins to pull the heist off, they were probably listening to ‘99 Cycling Swords’….I’m sure they got a copy. lol
reminds me of how the DC snipers were bumping killarmy on the prowl.
This one would be more in place if it was a late 90's early 00's heist movie:https://youtu.be/FtiGfNLY80Q
Was that it? To me it was always unclear what the exact connection was. Was there a CD found in the car? Or was it just the similarity between the attacks and certain lyrics from their music?
Killarmy SW4QW CD was found in the car, and Shogun got a line on the album about “snipers hit caucasians with semi automatic weapons across the world” or something along those lines.

Dom Pachino breaks it down here.
Seems like he just echoes what we all sort of heard. But I can not find any trace of this in the FBI dossier, or a copy of the album as evidence from the car. It seems to stem from thew news as stated in the dissertation "Under Siege: Conspiracy, I-pistemology and Resistance Through Hip Hop in Killarmy's Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars":
To me it sounds like only the media established this link. Furthermore none of the released notes of the snipers actually quote Killarmy and it seem even the former manager of Killarmy spoke out, Cedric Muhammad:Quote:
Interestingly, a link between this act of domestic terror and hip hop was made onan October 2002 episode of the NBC news show, Meet the Press. In this exchange, hostTim Russert and guest Dr. Meloy make the assertion that the attacks may have beeninfluenced in part by Killarmy’s music and then the program cuts to Chief CharlesMoose’s on-air communication with the snipers using language similar to the lyrics:
MR. RUSSERT: Now, one of the more interesting things that went on in this case was how the police used the media to try to communicate and develop a dialogue with the alleged snipers. And we've gone back and looked at a variety of things as to what influences there may have been on the snipers. This is a CD from a group called Kill Army. It's named "Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars." There's a song called "Wake Up." "Word is bond this is as real as it's going to get." Then here is the letter which they left behind at the shooting in Ashland, 6 Virginia. "Word is bond." And on Wednesday night, we heard Chief Charles Moose of Montgomery County saying this:
(Videotape, October 23, 2002):
CHIEF CHARLES MOOSE: If you are reluctant to contact us, be assured that we made ready to talk directly with you. Our word is our bond.
(End videotape) (Muhammad)
Russert continues to discuss the role that popular culture can play in theseseemingly random events of violence. Meloy mentions that the influence of pop culturecan be significant but does not necessarily cause these events. Further into the exchange,Russert describes more connections between the album’s content and the drama of themass shootings:
MR. RUSSERT: Let me show you some more based on exactly whatyou're saying and bring everybody else into the conversation. Here are more lyricsfrom that same album. This is a song called "Five Stars." "Snipers on the rooftopwatch out for the pit bulls. Waited 'til sunsets and moving like ninjas. ...Yo, 5 StarGeneral giving orders." Here's the letter, cover sheet, they left behind. The fivestars were a symbol or an indication that this was the true sniper sending thisletter.
Then we had this left behind. I'll show you here the lyrics from the samealbum. "My name is Born God Allah, King of North America," and the tarot cardleft behind, "Dear Policemen, I am God."7Playing out a real fantasy, influenced somewhat by music, and yet in hisown mind, woven together and we saw this play out. (Muhammad)
Actually found the original post via the sources in dissertation:Quote:
The exchange got my full attention as I was already fully aware of the effort bymany in the media and those above them to position the Honorable Minister LouisFarrakhan as the inspiration behind the activities of the alleged sniper. Now, I sawmore fully the details of the height and depth to which the sniper controversy -from the horrific killings; to the association with the Nation Of Islam of the leadsuspect, John Allen Muhammad; to the alleged influence of Hip-Hop; and therepeated visual of the image and account of a Black male committing violencewith a firearm - could and was being used by the worst enemies of Black Americato justify certain attitudes and policies. Well, of course the snipers didn’t come out and say “Killarmy made me do it” if that’s the hard evidence you’re looking for. Obviously only they know what their true motives were. But the CD was definitely found in the car (I remember pics on the news) and back then way before social media, people liked to try to connect the dots without having to show actual proof/receipts. They were reaching for answers.
And to be fair, this whole thread is speculation. I mean we’re talking about the Lourve heist suspects listening to Wu on the job. lol So I can see how Radio was just pointing out the similarities in stories to the one we’re joking around about here, to the DC case.
Hahaha, yeah. The Louvre thing is just wild speculation. Big difference between the two, Louvre heist had no killings.
And in regard the snipers, I'll file it under an urban myth untill the actual photos surface of that cd being found in their car or actual quotes of Killarmy being used in their notes. It seems to me that it was nothing more than the usual fear mongering about hiphop. Connected it with anything they could to pin the blame on it. Like trans people now, and video games still.
Back to the heist, it seems they got some suspects. I actually wonder if they get the jewels back.
Exactly. It’s an urban myth. Always has been. I don’t think Radio, myself, or even Dom P was saying otherwise. I’ve definitely seen the pics of the CD (it was on the drivers side, backseat floor) but that’s not nearly enough evidence that Killarmy “inspired” anything. Again, it was a huge tragedy here in America with families of victims that wanted answers….so the media tried to give them one. Erroneously and recklessly. Assuming things.
