I know they have been getting a lot of praise lately and all, but is their album worth getting? Would it be considered more of a mainstream release? I mean, I know Cee Lo from back in the Goodie Mob days, and I also had a couple solo albums from him. But I was just wondering what this album sounds like? I think I have only listened to one song from it, 'Crazy'. If there's already a bunch of threads about them, my bad.
Its a short album, but it's genius production. BUt after a while of exstensive listening to dangerdoom, it became a little too slick for me. Nevertheless the album is a great listen clocking in at just aroun 38 mins.

it's short but this album adn "Fishcale" are my favs of the year...but i'd maybe put this in the "hip-hop" section...
Yeah, I thought it might be considered hip-hop, but it was up for best alternative album of the year, so I wasn't sure. What guests are on the album, if any?

I'm not really awar of any prominent guests in the light of either The Mouse & The Mask or Demon Days.
Pretty much Danger and Cee-Lo.
Also I think the topic is nice here. Keeps it more dignity than in the Hiiphop. haha

I don't know if its a mainstream release but the album is certified platinum

Great album, IMO 2nd best album of the last year behind Fishscale. Definitely worth buying. Although I have it dl-ed.

gnarls Barkley is the better mainstream album, yes, doesn't make it the better musical album (even then, Beethoven's albums are musically better then 36 Chambers, doesn't make them better). DangerDoom was one of the dopest releases in recent years, bumpin that shit for like a year now.. Played Gnarls Barkley for like a month.
Disagree, Gnarls Barkley over DangerDoom. And it ain't mainstream, if you listened to lyrics you'd know that it wasn't meant for mainstream audience. It's just an incredibly dope album, that's it, without a second of wasted space and incorporating mad lots of different styles.
And BTW Beethoven wasn't making no albums, you idiot.

Ain't nothing wrong with mainstream. Ain't nothing wrong with addictive songs. Ain't nothing wrong with slick produced songs. Ain't nothing wrong with Gnarls Barkley but people trying to figure out who he is. Haha, he got you all burned arguing like hell will freeze over.
All said, Gnarls Barkley delivers the more solid musical album from Danger, only equated by Demon Days.

Yes, the lyrics are probably not mainstream, but the hooks and beats ARE - which is all that matters to the mainstream.
