I think rza killed rushing elephants.....yo, im listening to it now and shit is sick...i like how masta jumps in also..
gza on 'life changes' specialy about being in the 36chambers "ten feet from where he laid dead"
"lift the sword from the rock with one hand... one finger... *bzzzzt*... turn your body to sand"
not necessarily my favorite, but one of them.
Black man, black hooded, moving through the city
Like you Batman, still you so pussy, like Catwoman
-rae, weak spot
rza and gza's lead in on get me 4 my riches... classic tag team
meth on get out the way, pa.. "aint no bush in em, dick, dildo, or puss in em/ niggas still got that jucks in em"
deck on take it back
GZA on rushing elephants...and Ghost on campfire, "anything that rza throw, ironman's invincible..."
RZA - Sunlight
I'm the 7 in the center of the sun, I keep shinin
My inner light would turn my baby's tear drop to small diamonds
MK - "Trust No One, The Lone Shogun"
off Gun Will Go
Matter of fact - his whole verse was his best since NSD
over RZA instrumental im damn near invincible it's simple...
2 things stand out:
1) Ghost's whole verse on "Heart Gently Weaps". He sounds so pissed off, like how dare this dude come at me and try and kill me.
2) Forget which song, but I LOVE Masta's verse where he's like "She like yeah daddy you lookin right/ I love to give you some of this pussy and I'm a dyke". That line had me laughin out loud when I first heard it!
"Throw me in Sin City, leave me with the vultures & bats"
-Rae on windmill
"So rapid with rhymes, same slacking is assonine
Revealing the truth, catching feelings, it's still the Wu
Gorilla the booth, body armored, them killa proof
In living proof, I'm the Wittiest Unpredictable
Most Talented rap muthafucker you ever listened to"
-MEF on Windmill
"This is, Poverty Island, man, these animals don't run
Slums where the ambulance don't come"
-MEF on Gun Will Go
"Bruce Almighty got more problems than Spidey"
-RZA on Weak Spot
"I was raised out on these mean streets
You know where poverty and hell meet
Brothers get jail and life's for sale, cheap"
-MEF on Stick Me
"Hold you for a ransom note, Goliath cutting David's throat
Grab ya vest, abandon boat and leave you out at sea to float"
-GZA on Stick Me
"I'm the seven in the center of the sun, I keep shining
My inner light will turn my baby's tear drops to small diamonds"
&
"I've been highly misunderstood, by those who met us
They had, ears of corn, and heads of lettuce
Mentally dead, essentially led, by the false teachings
And eventually pledged, their allegiance
To that which was against 'em, and exempt 'em"
-RZA on Sunlight
"We criticize producers til they joints are right
Then acupuncture the track with pinpoints of light"
-GZA on Rushing Elephants
"We like rebel niggaz powdered up wilding in the streets of Liberia"
-Ghost on Take It Back
"Drawin' water up until it begin to drop,
raining with the patchwork of puddles that was written in the year of the dragon
more raw than you can ever imagine.."
Gza on Windmill
"strangle cold bottles of Becks, like a vexed German
duck low behind the car,
my tech burnin, neck burnin, from 8 carats of sunlight absorbed
in the grill, Big Pun-like (?).."
^^not sure what the Pun reference means..
"flyin dagger make him stagger than i take a swag of
ice cold Yagermeister, take a drag of
ol Bowl County kush
(in the interview Rza did out on stage out in Cali at the culture club like 2 years ago, he was askin what their weed is called and the kids all said Bowl County kush)
fly like the Nike swoosh, Bruce Almighty got more problems than Spidey look.."
Weak Spot
oh nice, you solved one mystery for me. it sounded like he said "hobo county kush", but that didn't really make sense, so i was guessing "Humboldt County kush"... 'cause that WOULD make sense. Although I'm guessing "bowl county" is probably slang for Humboldt.
"peanut butter!"
gun will go
^^^ It's "we got butter" .
Gotdamn it.
damn this
ITS PEANUT BUTTER
RAE WROTE THE INTRO ALLRIGHT?
Get That Burner!
keep it fresh like tupperware,
thats keeping it 93/97
Masta Killa
"Ladies looking at me like 'Damn, you lookin' right! / I'd love to give you some of this pussy AND I'M A DYKE!'" HAHH! nice.
GZA
"Hotel, motel, Holiday Inn / Overlooking that Bible she continue to sin." He sounds so bored on that verse though.
U-God
"Fuck that bitch if your wife don't write ya / Cancel her and buy another one just like her." Haa
RZA
"You say he's purely philosophical, yet you call on him on your deathbed while you lay in the hospital."
And the most honest, revelatory line from what might be the best verse (?) on "Life Changes":
Deck
"You were calling for help, kid. 'Shoulda, coulda, woulda' - at the time I was selfish."
and Masta's is very good too
"My brother's dead. You shouldn't play like that. Is this another prank to get the family cranked?"
When GZA says "I think about him on this song and what he might've said." I cringe a little bit. It's a song in memoriam of Dirty. Why would he be on it?? How could he? He should've checked himself a bit on that one. Whatever. I get what he means.
The only problem I have with that song is RZA's monopolizing it. They all say great things but they're limited to a few bars. It keeps the verses tighter, with the quality control and all that, but really RZA made it seem like what he had to say was more important. Maybe they were the closest, I don't know.
And Ghost is wrong for not being on that track, man.
I thought the best verse (had it been included) on the whole album would've been INS on "Watch Your Mouth".
I get it in like Tim off the glass
"Slander my name, I'm like the Prez sending men off to blast."
[RZA]
Aiyo, RZA, Meth, GZA, Deck, Ghost and Chef be cashing checks
Killa, Cap be snapping necks, Street and 'Zilla flash the tech
Sacrifice a savage life, if he trying to bag my ice
Tag a price on merchandise, tell me, is it worth ya life?
Gza from Rushing Elephants:
We criticize producers til they joints are right
Then acupuncture the track with pinpoints of light
"In living proof, I'm the Wittiest Unpredictable
Most Talented rap muhfucka you ever listened to"
Killed it!
Intro to gun will go says "Get up early" imo. That's what I hear.
i know yall are gonna bug out but cappa verse on windmill
"Hittin' them from well-concealed firing positions
With explosiveness that'll make the deaf listen"
"I will erase shit on a real note, you'se a waste, its right here for you I will lace you, rip you embrace you put a nice W up on your face" - Rae on Gun Will Go
next shot/right thru ya hovercraft..........
"hif Life Expired" Gza Talkin Bout Odb
yeah/now i got it in a smash/an ounce of marijuana/and a lama in the dash......cant understand you cats that cant keep up with 8d...its a new era folks..93 was mad long ago...

GZA on Rushing Elephants:
"From darkness to DNA, I move with my brother/ Then we resonate, energy that shifts in colors"
GOOSEBUMPS
for me..... i ran home, fired in the cd, and campfire blew me away, first 2 verses, meth and ghost, real grimey.... the shit gave me goosebumps, made me think this is wat hip-hop really is.
"you be hoping you be whitey when the judge gets pissed"-- RZA/"Unpredictable"
all of Gerald Alston & GZA/Fuck The Bacon! on "Stick Me For My Riches"
Ghost & Rae on "Heart Gentle Weeps"
***
Pep-- props for good ears; you're one of the real gritty heads here who get it & BK has all respect for Philly; some people don't know how hardbody ya'll are, hah.
***
the ridiculous irony here is RZA makes Rae sound GREAT-- better than on his own, or with recent Ghost. the ridiculous irony is Ghost kills his verses here better than all but one or two tracks on the mediocre "Big Doe Rehab."
btw, i hadn't seen this 8D review, pretty decent, esp. for a big newspaper--
