Is it true that RZA wanted Deck his big bro to join the clan instead of deck?
i read it somewhere, but i don't know if it is true.
don't know, never heard of it. I read an interview where he said that he originally wanted an SI legend called Scotty Wotty (The Jackpot) to be part of the Clan. He said he was on GZA's level but got caught up in drugs..
i never heard of it...imagine wu-tang clan without deck...no triumph and shit...damn
I heard something like that....but i don't remember where from.........wu manual maybe?
ya but imagine them with Scotty Wotty
I heard that Rza was originally good friends with Deck's brother and that's how he was introduced to Deck. I never heard that he wanted his brother instead.
so no one in the world has heard scotty wotty music?
Ive got to hear something from this character now, my interest has been sparked, I feel like their was a thread about this before
scotty wotty cop it to me
interesting. Deck is overrated at times to me...but thats just me.
Wonder if we will ever hear Scotty Wotty alongside any of the Killa Beez...
^I'd say deck is one of the most under rated mcs around if anything
^ I'd probably agree. Too bad his solo's weren't the greatest representation of his skills, and even they weren't terrible in any way. He has dropped numerous outstanding verses throughout his career and it seems as though not enough hip hop fans outside the Wu ones are aware of this. Although it's safe to say upon hearing his name a lotta people will associate him with his opening verse in Triumph. IMO he really needed a fully Rza produced album in the mid 90's, like Rae n Gza. That would've really helped solidify his status as one of rap's greatest mc's.
i agree deck should have got a fully produced rZa album everyone of the nine should have at least one............ remember these m.c like u-god and deck are dope on clan albums that are rza productions....... I think rza sometimes was messin with the wrong m.cs back in the day he should of bounced wit deck and baby u these two are so underated its not even funny.... dang rZa should of droppped his own steeze instead of bobby digital.... anyway thats my two cents
peace
Deck is dope when his voice and flow are juxtaposed with different flows and voices, over and over he tends to get monotonous, but he is underrated. I remember an article in XXL years ago where they asked him if he was nervous about going into the booth with lyrical beasts like Pun and Prodigy on Tres Leches, and he murked that track, then again, they all did
we need an all rza produced Deck album already
It's a shame really, Uey, Deck, Masta and even Rza (as himself, not bobby digital) should've ALL had that 1 rza produced album each, like the person 2 posts above said. Funny how those that are underrated are the ones that didnt have a solo between 93 and 97. Perhaps sidelining the gravediggaz projects for one of these artists woulda been better, but what's done is done.
cant imagine shit like wu forever or other shit being as dope as it is without deck
i think the shit about Deck yall forget about is, he aint as fragile as some of yall make it seem... sure, his solo shit wasnt on others level, in certain ways.. but to me, Uncontrolled Substance is a true Deck album, complete with great song selections an storytellin plus the 97 deck that was droppin sick lyrical gems, which no one felt, cuz the album dropped in 99, when everyone was ridin tim duncan's jock... i fuckin loved Deck's first album, im always droppin quotes from that shit, jus watch..
either way, INS will always be one of the game's most underrated lyricists... plus he produces too... i argue till i blue in the gills but Deck has my respect, good solo or not..
Above the Clouds...need I say more, and obviously Tupac thought he was dope
