how does it defend rape and advise it, i dont get it
edit: nvm i read the last one that one is suspect.
Quote:
"If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. a]" class="footnote">[a] He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives. "
This one is saying if you rape a woman she effectivly becomes yours to own.
And people say the Ko'ran preaches hate.Quote:
If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. 13 When the LORD your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the LORD your God gives you from your enemies.
Bible banter. Zooroka may find a girl he likes, rape her, and then legally marry her.
they'll say that that is the old testament and the old god - that jesus is the new god with the new way - with this new way, you would forgive the rapist, not kill them, and let them eat at the table with you and your daughters - this would be the christ like thing to do -
This thread is full of lies....
There are two points to note here. First, even though the verse may seem to be instructing the rapist to marry the victim the passage nowhere sanctions, condones or even approves of rape. This is simply a gross misreading of the text. The injunction is intended to instruct the Israelites on how to deal with and address a rape situation if and when it occurs.
The bible don`t support rape it gives a soloution to the problem of rape...that verse above ^^^ says that if some girl is raped then you must marry her, so you do not dishonour her, this is the ethical soloution to the problem of rape, because God knows those things happen, but nowhere in the bible is there a proclomation condoning it...Go read again kid.
peace be with you !
I think the more shocking thing is that these passeges outline the fact that women are of little value at all to the writer.
summary
you can rape a woman, you just have to marry her afterward so that there are no hard feelings

Its funny how you hear right wing western media often always comment on how the Qu'ran preaches "Jihad". They never mention however the huge amounts of war acts that are mentioned in the Bible under the support of the LORD. So many times figures inthe Bible are instructed to plunder and ravage towns in the name of the LORD.
Alot more, I can tell, than the Qu'ran does. A hell of a lot more.
every religion has violence in it tho, other than maybe taoism and shintoism even budhism have the shaolin monks who are lethal with the hands, but when people talk about jihad and dont mention the crusades its such a one sided argument
There is nothing in the new testement that commands violence by its followers, if anything it speaks against it, but islam and the koran commands it`s followers to the act of jihad... I mean just take the examples of the two founders of islam and christianity...Jesus was peaceful, humble and went around doing good....muhummad went around with violence, terror and sexual immorality.
As for the old testement and violence, These where commanded by God for a specific purpose in establishing the state of israel and for providing justice, not for the sake of spreading the religion or concoring nations for political gain and power...also If God commands somthing...who is anyone to say otherwise, he is GOD ALMIGHTY he can create and destroy whatever he wishes, because he made it ALL !!!!!!!
peace be with you !
God doesn't command rape
Zechariah 14
The LORD Comes and Reigns
1 A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you. 2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
this should be common sense, but...christianity is the devil
damn god really doesn't like women does he lol
oh hey you just got raped and probably beat up a bit by the scum of this earth - so now I'm gonna stick you with this rapist douchebag permanently, whether you like it or not!
because I'm good and ethical like that
the reason its all bullshit, thats why it makes no sense..men are storytellers...
lol @ prof and his Art-ful Dodg-ing
ghost,
you should copy and past the text from the links
I'm sure you could find all kinds of fucked up shit in the bible. I don't have first hand knowledge of it myself, due to the fact that I don't like wasting my time reading complete bullshit, but seeing how crazy, and unstable most of the Christians I know are, I can imagine how fucked up that shit is.
isn't it already a fact that the bible is just a bunch of primitive crap that should not be taken seriously and preferably be ignored?
^Yes but their followers are just as primitive and refuse to use logic.
do not affiliate with its followers then, avoid them and act cautious around them when need be
I challenge anyone to find anything violent or unethical that is commanded or taught in the new testement !!!!!!!!!!!
Peace be with you !
hahhahaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaa
hahahhahahah
I personally think all religion is equally bullshit.
That being said, the Old Testament's attitude towards rape was straight up progressive for its time.
No shit we all look back on it NOW and the views are clearly objectionable and primitive. BUt simply by acknowledging that rape is wrong and having some sort of guidelines and retribution AT ALL, the bible was ahead of time.
The fact that nobody here can contextualize that is disturbing.
And let's look at the present day interpretation. I would say that rape today is certainly frowned upon in Judeo-Christian societies(except man-boy rape).
Now let's look at the treatment of rape under present-day Muslim societies... It is almost impossible for a woman to convict her attacker, and the woman herself is USUALLY convicted herself.
By no means is this an indictment of all Muslim people, but I think the KTL bias is certainly interesting.
Its because they have one track minds. They have an agenda and it stems from a socio-economic perspective they have on the world.
This results in the failure to put themselves in someone elses shoes for the sake of a well rounded view of something.
when speaking about muslims, and islam be careful where you get your info from -
