Great movie I’ve seen it 5 times now.
First time I saw it I really liked it but I needed to see if it was rewatchable after a few days.
The first watch I was alittle focused on the de aging thing. But since then I don’t even recognize it.
It’s the most fluid 3.5 hour movie I’ve seen. It never drags for me.
Editing was great, and I loved the score and the soundtrack choices. Nobody is better at that than Scorsese.
The way he times out a scene to an actual song no a score.
The scene where he describes what Russ does up until they whack Anastasia in hotel barber shop was Scorsese at his best in my opinion.
I though De Niro did a great job with Frank.
I’d put this above gangs of New York probably too 5 up there with Mean streets, the Departed goodfellas, raging bull and taxi driver.
I liked his movie Silence, but the Irishman succeeds where Silence was slowed down because of length.

I watched JFK a few days after I watched this for the second time because parts of the film connect. The weird eyebrow guy with the cubans who Frank delivers the arms to is David Ferrie, implicated in the assassination of JFK, and played by Joe Pesci in that film.

Yes the fairy named ferrie.
That was a funny coincidence.

i'm going to have to watch this again, i guess. i wasn't blown away by it like everyone else.
my man sebastian maniscalco killed it as Crazy Joe Gallo

Yeah Sebastian is the best out right now as far as stand up in my opinion. Right up there with Chappelle. Back on topic, movie wasn’t a 10 which is what I expected with this cast and how long it’s been talked about. I rate it in the low 8s. Lacked something and the ending dragged. Doesn’t touch Goodfellas or Casino or even the Departed to be honest. But overall I liked it just not a 10 like I expected it to be. Peace
