I was looking at paintings of my fav painter again today. The surrealist Paul Delvaux

I am especially fond of the night time paintings with nude women in ancient cities (Rome/Greece). I love the skeleton paintings too.

Some of his male figures are based upon characters from Jules Verne novels.


My second fav painter would be the Italian Giorgio de Chirico. His mannequins with their expressionless faces interest me too

I used to go to museums a lot but obviously the last 2 years I've avoided it even when it was possible.

Doesn’t get better than Caravaggio. He was a degenerate gambler, murderer, and pedophile, but his Baroque paintings are the best, so much so even the Catholic Church gave him a pass for being a despicable human being. I guess you gotta separate the art from the artist
