This is interesting. Q-Tip produced the whole new Danny Brown LP, dropping on October 4th.
Danny Brown has detailed his forthcoming studio album uknowhatimsayin¿: The follow-up to 2016’s Atrocity Exhibition arrives October 4 via Warp. He’s also shared the LP’s lead single “Dirty Laundry.” It comes with a music video directed by Simon Cahn. Watch below.
In a press release, Danny Brown said, “This is my version of a stand-up comedy album.” He continued, “Most of my close friends now aren’t rappers—they’re comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody.”
Q-Tip executive produced uknowhatimsayin¿. “There was no room for error,” Brown said. “Q-Tip wanted me to go back to that ‘Greatest Rapper Ever’ era. I almost had to relearn how to rap again—an ego death type thing. He gave me this whole new outlook on music. I can't go back to how I was before.”
Other producers on uknowhatimsayin¿ include Paul White, Flying Lotus, Standing on the Corner, and JPEGMAFIA. There are also guest spots from Run the Jewels, JPEGMAFIA, Blood Orange, and Obongjayar. Check out the tracklist and uknowhatimsayin¿ cover art below.

anything q-tip touches is gold
Blood Orange is a fucking monster.
totally lost interest in Danny Brown over the years.
i even went back and listened to The Hybrid and XXX... "The Greatest Rapper Ever" era that Tip mentioned and...
that shit wasnt as good as i remembered. like maybe 2 tracks on each of those tapes were fucking hard ass bangers but the rest were just not good. i never realized how much story telling he did until i stepped away from him. really enjoyed his harder tracks though.
judging by the single this does not seem like it will be any good.
Yeah he's been very hit or miss through the years. I'm not sure what to make of the single - its not bad, just weird.
Banger.
that beat is so fucking dope man
The beat is so dope
I can stomach his style better when he's collaborating with other artists, so he is counterbalanced (is that a word?) by some other rapper's traditional flow (like 'six degrees' with ghost & BBNG)
sometimes he's up kool keith's alley ... but there's already a kool keith. and nobody can outkool keith, ya dig?
the beat on this track wasn't too helpful either
nice ODB vibe in the video though
This album is all Danny Brown's potential realized.
This and Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire's are the 2 best albums of the year.
Whole album is fire.
On first listen I wished Q-Tip would've kept these beats for himself.
But it's growing on me after a couple more spins.
