Finally my copy of Operation Doomsday lunch box edition has come through the mail today.
^^ nice, I considered ordering it too too but I already own the album so i thought fuck it
A whole extra disk of b sides and alternate versions, not to mention the really dope lunch box which looks dope on a shelf. I say it was worth the double dip.
i was out diggin' in the crates yesterday for the first time in like a decade and damn that felt good. i came home with two bags of vinyl and found alot of relatively cheap shit. i bought alot of jazz albums and a bunch of hip-hop 12"s.

i already had the two first Mahavishnu Orchestra album on CDs but fuck it, they looked great on original pressings for wax and are filled with incredible music and loads of shit that could be sampled. John McLaughlin is one of the best guitarist OF ALL TIME, close to Hendrix level (well, almost, it's very different styles but still). it's like my university teacher in music theory told me (he grew up on rock), that when he found out about jazz and the virtuoso playing of these guys he realized that these jazz players like for example John McLaughlin on guitar put his rock idols who he thought were super virtuosos to shame. definitely check out those albums if you haven't yet, simply amazing stuff!! it's Rock-Jazz, it's more instrumental rock but with strong undertones of jazz with free improvisation and whatnot. the last album also features The London Symphony Ordhestra and is produced by Beatles producer George Martin!

two Weather Report albums I was missing, i only listened to them once so far and i noitced that with all Weater Report albums i've heard it takes repeated listen to see the beauty of it.

Herbie Hancock is one of my favorites but i have yet to hear this album from 1979 and it god some bad criticism but we will see.
the 12"s I bought were:
Pitch Black - "What You Gonna Do" / "Revenge"
[produced by Marley Marl / DJ Premier]
LL Cool J - "Strictly Business"
(1991) [prod. Marley Marl, non album track]
Mr. Len - "What The Fuck?!" / "Straight"
(featuring Mr. Live / Q-Unique of The Arsonists)
Little Vic - "The Exorcist"
[prod. by DJ Premier]
The Game Ft. NaS & Marsha - "Why You Hate The Game"?
[Promo copy: Produced by Just Blaze]
overall a very good first run of vinyls. and i got a bunch of oldies but goodie classics right here in my apartment plus a bunch in my hometown :)
I really got these as collector's items since I download everything, got some of my favorite albums+singles. Never bought vinyl so I'm not sure if it comes with booklets like the CDs, but I hope they do lol.

I recently rebought some classic albums which I found in a charity shop for next to nothing, they were....
Souls of Mischief - 93 till infinity
Warren G - G Funk Era
Gravediggaz - Niggamortis (it's a first edition copy because it actually says niggamortis as opposed to six feet deep.
I planned on selling them on to my friends since I already own these albums but I might keep that Gravediggaz first edition.
if you're gonna sell them to your friend, then sell your old copy of "6 Feet Deep" and keep "Niggamortis". it's much rarer, plus it has "Pass The Shovel" and a few vocal skits that isn't on the US version and later pressings.
^^Yeah I noticed when I was playing it that it had extra vocal skits. I wasn't aware of the changes beside the name. I think im just gonna keep it.
I bought this album in three different versions.
First time it was the Best Buy exclusive with the bonus "Free P" DVD.
Then I bought the video album DVD separately.
Then I bought the collector's tin that you have here.
The are differecnes between the stand alone DVD album and the one that comes in the collector's edition, some vids are omitted on the CE DVD.
I gave my old copy and the CE DVD to a friend, so he was happy. :b
