I'm kind of rusty with Photoshop being I haven't used it in awhile.

I would have left the photo of Rae on the floor alone, or if you're gong to add an effect use something that makes the image easier to read, not harder. If I hadn't already seen that photo of him, I probably would have not been able to tell what's going on by looking at it.

The most important part is being able to read that image of Rae so try looking at movie posters for inspiration on how to alter the photo towards a specific effects and mood.
