Knives was released as a street single, not the official single. SvsWT was always billed as the 1st official single along with a video to it as well.

I thought Dre always originally intended to give Rae only 2 beats
i remember at one point the word from Rae was that RZA would produce 50% and Dre 50% of the album. glad that didn't happen... don't think he got more than two beats in the end though, never heard about a third at least.
