Default c7 presents Pete Rock & The Wu-Tang Clan (17 incredible tracks)

I got a request on making a compilation like this some time ago and at first i wasn't too thrilled since i'm so familiar with both Pete's and Wu's catalouge. One day I put it all together and tried to sequence the songs right, I already knew that "Head Rush" was a perfect intro, and after i banged it i was amazed at how ill these songs sounds in this context. Pete Rock and the Clan just sounds perfect together and i know they got a mutual respect for eachother. Hoepfully we will see more collaborations in a near future, maybe we'll get some Pete heat on "Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang". Anyway you'll find the link on my blog, enjoy!

Nice compilation, I haven't heard anyone highlight Pete Rock's work with the Wu Tang Clan yet and it's a respectable part of Hip Hop production.

That's a nice little niche Pete has found for his production over the years, I think I like the stuff he was doing around Soul Survivor 1 the most.

I remember that Slang Editorial remix, Pete was playing that on Future Flavors before his remix for Blackstar's Respiration came out, so the beat was fresh to my ears.

thanks, glad you're liking the idea. i think Wu sounds incredible over Pete Rock's production work so it's a great thing they are still hiring him for beats and in turn he's getting features from them on his albums. i think Pete has been very consistant over the years, but my favorite work of his is probably the early '90s with CL Smooth and then the beats he did for Deda and InI plus all the remixes like Public Enemy, K-Solo, A.D.O.R., etc.
