I'm learning the violin too, just got one 4 months ago. I'm no good yet, but it's still fun to play.

this reminds me of me and my friend, we're both musicians and have been playing together for years. we'll get up sometimes and play whatevers layin around. always fun.

It's sad that hobos on a street corner have more talent than half these so called "artists"

i made a thread about the hang drum. they are very rare. only one guy makes them, by hand, in holland and you have to order and pick it up in person.

every spot on the drum makes a diff sound. then by applying pressure to it you can tweak it like a whammy bar on a guitar.

it has to do with the alchemy of the alloys. mad diff metals are used.
this lucky fucker has 2 of em.

my sound therapist brought in his homeboy, who was ill with the hang, and they did a didgeridoo/hang drum duet which ended up being a quartet when bongos and sticks joined in. i wish i recorded it. i do have mp3s of 2 other sessions i have posted in ktl.

the same kid I mentioned in my above post made a working set of steel drums one summer, I need to put him on to this shit. I bet he could do it if he had one to look at, seems like a similar concept.

all he did was cut the ends off of 55-gallon drums and then he hammered the notes in.
